The power forwards and posts in the Class of 2024 are somewhat undervalued, in my opinion, due to such strong depth at the guard and wing positions. However, our Top-150 is currently home to 26 power forward and 17 center prospects who make up 28.7% of all 2024 prospects ranked in Indiana. There are some really nice defensive players, physical, low-block scorers, plus several athletes and skilled kids who can play around the perimeter. Below is a look at those 43 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in September.

– I have yet to see Anna in person, but I have seen her on video. She has a fairly strong frame, solid all-around mobility at her size, and she’s skilled. She gives Rivet a huge mismatch on the interior at the Class 1A level, especially considering they start two more girls around the 6-0 mark. Once I’m able to see her in person, I’ll have a better grasp for her physical talent, but she does have a lot of upside.

, 2024, 6-0 PF/C, Triton H.S.
– Addyson is a strong, somewhat physical frontline player who doesn’t mind contact whatsoever. She’s actually probably built more like a true post, but she has good hands, the ability to put the ball on the floor, and she has touch to near the 3-point line. You can almost call her a face-up ’5’. She plays with a nice motor, she can catch and finish in transition, plus she’s a solid defender in the paint.

– When I first saw Daneijah in the Fall, I noticed her nonstop motor. She plays hard on each possession, and she will get out and run in transition. She has a strong, physical frame, she likes contact, but she also possesses the skill to attack the basket or play comfortably around the perimeter. My biggest concern with her is who she’ll defend off the bounce, but she’s a productive, versatile forward.

, 2024, 6-0 PF, Mooresville H.S.
– Rachel continues to work on her game, and you can see the results in her productivity (she’s averaging 13.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season). She has a very strong frame, some attitude and a lot of physicality on the interior, but she also possesses good hands, a solid handle, plus the ability to make shots near and around the perimeter. She also plays with an outstanding motor.
Genna Hayes, 2024, 6-1 C, Kankakee Valley H.S.
– Genna had nice height when I first saw her 18 months ago, but now she has more strength and uses that to her advantage. She is an offensive-minded post with solid touch to near the 3-point line, plus she can score the ball on the block with a physical but finesse low-post game. What has come along the most this season is her ability to recognize things defensively and offer help to her teammates.

, 2024, 5-11 PF, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers H.S.
– Two Summers ago, Addie was more of a rough-and-tumble interior player who had a great motor and toughness, but she played more like a traditional post. Fast forward to this past Summer and Fall, and she has toned her frame, she’s more balanced and explosive in most directions, and she has really polished up her skillset. She is averaging 11.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game right now.

Benton Central | 2024

, 2024, 6-1 C, Benton Central H.S.
– For those who appreciate defense, Sarah’s value over the years has come by way of her understanding of rotating to help and limiting shots at the basket. She has really nice length, wiry strength, and a competitive, tough attitude on the interior. But this season she has added a bit more offensively to the Bison lineup, knocking down 15-footers and finishing more consistently around the rim.

Morgan Township | 2024

, 2024, 5-11 PF/SF, Morgan Township H.S.
– I was able to see Peyton for the first time this Winter, and she is definitely very intriguing. She has an athletically strong frame, really nice length, and she has an inside-out skillset that allows her to play a variety of roles. Offensively, she tries to get downhill and attack the basket, but she does have some touch from around the perimeter. She’s also big/physical enough to post smaller defenders.

– Faith is one of those prospects I’m excited to see again soon. As the Summer of 2021 ended, she was really playing well, and she possesses a lot of skill, both inside and out. But she needed to finish growing and gain a little more strength. This Winter, it appears as though she’s getting there, averaging 12.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. I’m anxious to see how much she’s grown.
