Down by 20+ at times in this game, Acton-Boxborough fought their way back into the game with a run in the third, but Boston Latin’s potent backcourt overpowered them.
Player of the Game:
Emelia O’Gilvie Emelia O’Gilvie 5'7" | PG St. Andrew’s | 2023 State NewE – 5’7’’ – PG – ’23
O’Gilvie has always been a tremendous two-way point guard, and she dominated from start to finish against Acton-Boxborough. She led the game with 22 points, and whenever Boston Latin needed a big play, O’Gilvie delivered. She showed off her mid-range repertoire filled with pull-ups and floaters on offense. Defensively, O’Gilvie was a monster and caused countless turnovers with her quick hands and instincts. Her transition defense was very impressive, too. She collected a few back tap steals and had a big chase-down block that killed Acton-Boxborough’s momentum in the second half.
Boston Latin Standouts:
Bleu Kerr Bleu Kerr 5'9" | CG Boston Latin | 2025 State NewE – 5’9’’ – CG – ’25
Kerr’s 18 points were not surprising after watching her destroy defenders with her isolation package and creativity in transition over the past year. What I did love seeing was her passing acumen. She hit her teammates with strong on-target passes and started the break well for Boston Latin. Even in the halfcourt, I thought Kerr saw the floor well and was unselfishly feeding the shooters and bigs throughout the night.
Lauren Choy Lauren Choy 5'6" | SG Boston Latin | 2023 State NewE – 5’7’’ – SG – ’23
Choy compliments Bleu Kerr Bleu Kerr 5'9" | CG Boston Latin | 2025 State NewE and Emilia O’Gilvie’s game well because she can space the floor with efficient long-range shooting. She finished the game with 8 points, 6 from the outside, and was a reliable kick-out option for Boston Latin.
Acton-Boxborough Standouts:
Bridget Bartlett Bridget Bartlett 5'10" | PF Acton-Boxborough | 2023 State NewE – 5’10’’ – PF – ’23
Bartlett led Acton-Boxborough in scoring with 15 points, including 3 three-pointers. Bartlett can score from the inside and out and is comfortable knocking down threes while contested. She can also put the ball on the deck and drive to the basket if she gets the defense to bite on her shot fake.
Shannon Patrick Shannon Patrick 5'9" | CG Acton-Boxborough | 2024 State NewE – 5’8’’ – CG – ’24
For most of the game, Patrick was plagued by foul trouble but was tough as nails when she was on the court. I like the way she defends and her physicality when on the ball. Patrick plays with tenacity and is an aggressive rebounder for a guard. Patrick also loves to take advantage of her strength and post up on the block when she has a mismatch. Patrick is having an excellent season for Acton-Boxborough and, even in a loss, showed the many ways she can impact the game.
Olivia Baytarian Olivia Baytarian 5'4" | PG Acton-Boxborough | 2025 State NewE – 5’4’’ – PG – ’25
The confidence Baytarian showed throughout the game was encouraging, and she showed a lot of promise vs. Boston Latin. I like how well she handles the ball when pressured and her assertiveness on offense. Baytarian had a few nice makes, off the dribble, from the perimeter and finished with 10 points. With Shannon Patrick Shannon Patrick 5'9" | CG Acton-Boxborough | 2024 State NewE in foul trouble, someone had to step up at the guard spot and try to make plays, and Baytarian did so.
