Over the week, two players– Zoe Brooks and Faith Pappas–achieved that milestone.
Saint John Vianney’s Brook, a junior who scored 21 points to surpass 1,000 points for her career, helped her team to a 72-50 win over Life Center on Friday.
The 5-foot-9 guard needed 18 points to hit the mark. Brooks, who is enjoying a fantastic season, has scored 20 points or more is eight contests this campaign. She spent her first two years at Trenton Catholic Academy before transferring to SJV this school year.
Pappas, a senior on Pope John XXIII’s team, needed 11 points to reach the 1000-point mark, dropped in a game-high 22 points in the Lions’ 59-46 victory against Warren Hills in Sparta on Tuesday.
The 5-foot-11 guard nailed five three-pointers at the beginning of the week and also grabbed five rebounds, dished out five assists, and had three blocks.
Pappas spent her freshman year at West Morris, where she scored 324 points with the squad.
