Nicole Villalta-Barrantes (Sr.) – 5-5 PG/SG, Notre Dame
Villalta-Barrantes is having a career year for Notre Dame this season and for good reason as this senior point guard has greatly improved her offensive game. As one of the more veteran leaders on this team, she’s more easily found open lanes to score and has exploited defensive schemes from the perimeter. She’s just as able to dominate inside the three-point line as she’s able to spread the floor and expand her range. As much as she’s been able to score more at will now, she’s also passing off to teammates more often and intercepting passes on defense to create fast breaks.
Dani Schlesinger Dani Schlesinger 5'9" | CG Marlboro | 2022 State NJ (Sr.) – 5-10 G/F, Marlboro
Schlesinger has entered a new stratosphere when it comes to three-point shooting this season. She’s already skyrocketed past 100 career made three-pointers in her high school career and is probably one of the best perimeter shooters in the state. Schlesinger plays well off-ball and can shoot from just about anywhere on the offensive end. Her quick release and smooth shooting motion makes her nearly impossible to guard. Add on her height and she’s as dominant as a shooter as anyone out there.
Julia Whesper (Jr.) – 5-6 PG, St. Rose
Whesper had a great three-point performance in St. Rose’s game on Saturday, but hasn’t relied on perimeter shooting this season. Instead, she’s been a player who has done well attacking the lane and weaving through opponents to get to the basket. Whesper is a great passer and perimeter defender as well, so despite not having a lot of experience on varsity, she’s plays with a high level of maturity and poise. It’s been a successful combination for her this season.
Isabella Diaz (Fr.) – 6-0 PF/C, Notre Dame
Diaz has been productive in her freshman year at Notre Dame and had the best game of her high school career on Saturday. Her height and size has given her a great advantage in the interior. She’s able to crash the glass well and haul in rebounds. On offense, she naturally creates mismatches and is able to catch opponents off-guard near the basket. Diaz is able to create space well and dominate the lane. Expect her to be a nightmare to guard over the next few seasons.
Te’Yala Delfosse (So.) – 5-10 SF/SG, Ewing
Delfosse has gotten starting time this season and is taking full advantage of it. She’s turned into one of the best forwards in the state, but she’s also just as good of a guard. Delfosse possesses great traits from both positions, starting with great court awareness as a guard and an eye for scoring. Her pure scoring ability is a sight to see as well as her passing. As a forward, she attacks the boards well and is an agile defender, able to meet opponents at their apex to swat shots away. She’s the best of both worlds on the court and is already one of the most complete players in NJ.
Madison Hunt (Sr.) – G/F, Colts Neck
Everything is coming together for Hunt in her senior season for Colts Neck as she’s not just a reliable scorer, but one of the most underrated passers in the region. It’s been impressive watching her be able to pick out players in a second on offense through open lanes. Not just that, but her ability to find teammates on the break has given Colts Neck more scoring opportunities as a whole this season. Her stats don’t jump off the page, but her clutch factor makes her stand out on the floor.
