Both teams have been on a hot streak heading into the final week of the regular season. Monday night’s showdown belonged to the host Lady Crusaders as they posted a 51-32 victory over the Jays.
Here is a look at the Top Five Stars from the Helias-Jefferson City contest.
No. 1 Star: Gabrielle Bax (Helias):
The 5’6 2022 guard enjoyed a big Senior Night performance with a game-high 18 points. She has come back from multiple knee operations to be a contributor as a senior. She scored her team’s first eight points and kept things rolling with her constant movement and hustle. She was definitely the catalyst for the Crusaders’ big effort last night.
No. 2 Star: Adalyn Koelling Adalyn Koelling 6'1" | SF Helias Catholic | 2024 State MO (Helias):
The 6’1 2024 wing scored 13 points while also rebounding and playing strong defense inside. She has good length and an excellent skill set. She hit a 3-pointer off the catch with a quick release. She also delivered some nice passes.
No. 3 Star: Hannah Linthacum Hannah Linthacum 6'3" | PF Jefferson City | 2023 State MO (Jefferson City)
The 6’4 2023 Mizzou commit scored a team-high 16 points for the Lady Jays. She’s very skilled in the post with good mobility and fundamentals. She seals well in the post to score inside while also being able to step out and hit the perimeter shot.
No. 4 Star: Mikah Edwards Mikah Edwards 5'8" | PG Helias Catholic | 2023 State MO (Helias)
The 5’6 2023 guard scored seven points in the victory. She has a very quick first step to the bucket and she scored on a nice runner in the lane.
No. 5 Star: Brooke Ruetter (Helias):
The 5’7 2023 guard scored seven points and played a solid overall floor game. She hit a Corner 3-pointer early in the game and she displayed some good court vision with her passing.
