Again the disclaimer, these are players who may not always get in the spotlight, but they are players who can step up big for their team on any given night and contribute in a big way.
The schedule for today is Fayetteville Perry vs Tri Village, Russia vs Cincinnati Country Day and Bradford vs Fort Loramie.
Megan Zimmerman, 5-8 2024, Cincinnati Country Day- Despite only being a sophomore, Megan has proven herself to be one of the most versatile players from the Queen City. She can score in a variety of ways, has good range and does a nice job on the boards. Solid defender and will be ready for a very talented Russia team who has size and a variety of weapons.
Torie Richards, 5-8 2023, Tri Village- Everyone knows about the three 1,000-point scorers (Sagester, Hunt, Downing) but Richards is a player who can step up and hurt you if you don’t know where she is. A very good defender, Torie was nearly the fourth player who averaged double figures this year, has some good range out behind the arc, and will distribute the ball.
Cece Borchers, 5-9 2024, Russia- a very good compliment to the two 6-footers in their offense at Russia, Cece is a player who continues to get better. Works extremely hard and can hurt you in a variety of ways Smart player on the court, able to play in a variety of tempos including pushing north-south.
Anne Murphy, 5-9 2024, Fayetteville Perry- Not sure how much of a “sleeper” she is, but she deserves to be mentioned among the players who continues to see her stock rise. Love the way she can anticipate on the defensive side of the ball, she reads and reacts very well. Offensively Anne has range and can score from behind the arc, can also score around the rim. Long and athletic, just makes plays happen for her team.
Rylee Canan, 5-5 2022, Bradford- No matter what sport she plays, she is effective. On the hardwood, Rylee does a. nice job complimenting Austy Miller Austy Miller 5'6" | CG Bradford | 2022 OH (1,800 point scorer) well and is solid in all aspects of the game. She has very good range and can score from the three. She also sees the floor well and has maturity to know where to get the ball Can also play excellent on-ball defense.
Victoria Mescher Victoria Mescher 5'11" | CG Fort Loramie | 2025 State OH , 5-11 2025, Fort Loramie- Such a poised player for a freshman, Victoria (feature photo above) has an unlimited ceiling as she continues to grow in her game. Compliments a very good group of upperclassmen very well, she is long and athletic to score in all three aspects. She is mature beyond her years on the court and is one of the most complete freshman in Ohio
