Tilton went on the road to Dexter-Southfield and came out victorious, 66-45. The final score doesn’t indicate how close and competitive this game got in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. A monster defensive effort and excellent playmaking sparked a big Tilton run and opened the game up in the third.

[player_tooltip player_id="269345" first="Ahnay" last="Adams"] - Tilton - 5’6’’ - PG - ’24
Saturday was a vintage [player_tooltip player_id="269345" first="Ahnay" last="Adams"] performance. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, she was undoubtedly the best player on the floor. Adams led the game with 21 points and exceptionally facilitated the Tilton offense. Whether in the halfcourt or transition, Adams consistently made plays for her teammates and sprayed the ball to everyone. As usual, Adams attacked the basket aggressively and also knocked down a couple of threes. The game tilted midway in the third when Adams intercepted a pass, pushed the ball in transition, and hit her teammates for a momentum-shifting three. Tilton rolled from that point on, and Adams continued making dynamic plays the rest of the way.

[player_tooltip player_id="263891" first="Alyssa" last="Moreland"] - 6’0’’ - SF/PF - ’22
Moreland went ballistic in the second half and dominated on both sides of the floor. Her weak side defense was elite, made good reads, and disrupted a lot of Dexter-Southfield action in the halfcourt. I also thought she out toughed everyone on the court. Her physicality and aggressiveness wore the opposition down, and Moreland bullied anyone in her path. Her jumper was on as she hit a few mid-range and three-point shots but most importantly, she was the hardest working player on the court. Tilton seemed to feed off her effort and energy in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id="183914" first="Kayana" last="Armbrister"] - 6’1’’ - SF - ’23
Armbrister played a significant role in Dexter-Southfield getting back in the game in the 2nd quarter. Down 16-4 in the first, Armbrister took over the scoring load for the team with powerful drives and outside shots to help cut the deficit to 6 points by halftime. I am always amazed by her athleticism and leaping ability, as she had a few loud rejections. Armbrister led Dexter-Southfield with 12 points and was an intimidating presence defensively.

I thought Padilla had a solid game offensively and confidently hit tough shots throughout the game. She got into the lane whenever she wanted to, and her aggressiveness led to a few trips to the free-throw line. Padilla’s mid-range game was also money. Her shooting off the dribble stood out, and she made some nice contested shots leading to an 11 point night.
