2022
Sian Phillips-6’3 C (Cy Springs)
Phillips was virtually unstoppable on the inside as she recorded a double-double, 13 points, and 16 rebounds, 7 of those 16 on the offensive end but she also did a good job controlling the paint defensively, getting a block that changed the momentum in their favor plus she ran the floor on both ends
2023
Ma’Riya Vincent Ma’Riya Vincent 6'0" | SF Cy Springs | 2024 State TX -5’10 CG (Klein Cain)
Vincent scored off the dribble multiple times and created contact going to the basket which enabled her to get to the line. A couple of those times, her body control and ability to finish after the lick gave her “and-one opportunities but she also dropped the long ball and was well over double digits
Di’ Aunestie Henderson-5’8 G (Cy Springs)
Henderson dropped the long ball and scored off-balance yet she also rebounded and came away with steals to fill up the stat sheet but I guess her pressure on defense definitely should be mentioned as she did a good job applying it baseline to baseline yet her 9 points were instrumental in their win
2024
Zamari Reece-5’6 G and Evonne Sydney-5’6 G (Cy Springs)
Reece and Sydney were role players that played their parts in helping the Panthers get on a roll. Reece was hard to handle off the dribble as she broke defenders down to either score or assist while Sydney hit a couple of huge buckets. The defense from both also was solid and helped create turnovers which led to scoring opportunities
2025
Ayla McDowell Ayla McDowell 6'2" | SF Cy Springs | 2025 State TX 6’2 PF/SG (Cy Springs)
McDowell was omitted from the 2025 list after leaving me speechless at the Girls #TXJamboree and my staff inadvertently placed her on the 2024 list, staff being voices in my head but when I looked at her I said to myself, awe man, how did I mess that up because keep in mind, she’s long and athletic, remember that’s the base I use so I had her at #11 on today’s 2024 drop so I slid her back on the 2025 released last Tuesday at that same number but she’s Top 5. She scored multiple ways last night, including dropping a couple of three-pointers yet her 7 rebounds and intimidating presence on the inside altered or deflected quite a few shots. Oh yeah, she also played the passing lane, great anticipation, and added a couple of steals
