<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="247154" first="Yakiya" last="Milton"] 2023, 6’4″ F/C (University Christian)</strong> entered this high school season as one of the most talked-about Juniors in the State of Florida. Milton has had a good season and looking to build on her season in the high school playoffs. Milton came into the District playoffs on the heels of a triple-double, that included 10 blocked shots. In the District playoffs, Milton posted 10 points in the District Championship and anchored the defense in the paint.
<strong>Tai Baldwin 2022, 5’10’ G (University Christian)</strong> came into this contest averaging nearly 18 points per game. Baldwin is one of the best unsigned 2022 players on the First Coast and in the State. In the District playoffs, Baldwin scored 29 and 17 in consecutive games to lead UC to another District Title. The senior guard knows how to put the ball in the basket also knows how to win District Championships. Baldwin has won Districts all four years of her high school career.
<strong>Monique Cepeda 2022, 5’8 G (University Christian)</strong> has been the utility player for her team this year. She does a lot of the little things on the court like ball handling, timely scoring, and rebounding. Cepeda entered the championship game with an average of 11 points per game. She finished the championship game with 15 points.
<strong>Lariel Green 2022, 5’8″ SF (University Christian)</strong> is another do-everything player for University Christian. She entered the contest averaging 8 points per contest and posted 10 points along with solid defense in the District Championship game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91660" first="Fantasia" last="James"] 2023, 5’10” SF (Oakleaf)</strong> was magnificent scoring 25 points and connected on 6 three-pointers in the 7A -1 District Championship game to lead Oakleaf to its 2nd consecutive District Championship.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="166160" first="Kaylah" last="Turner"] 2023, 5’5″ G (Oakleaf)</strong> had a good offensive output in the District Finals, but her defense was suffocating and outright special. The Junior recorded 6 steals to go with her 15 points 10 assists and 8 rebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="363458" first="Kamiya" last="Jones"] 2023, 5’4″ G (Oakleaf)</strong> connected on 4 threes to help Oakleaf capture the District Title for the second consecutive year. Jones’s move to Oakleaf was one of the most impactful transfers on the First Coast.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91575" first="Maddie" last="Millar"] 2022, 5’9" (Bishop Kenny)</strong> knocked down 5 threes in the District Finals to push BK past the Andrew Jackson, the Gateway Champions. Big-time players show it up in the crunch and that’s what Millar did.
<strong>Dyllan Hanna 2022, 6’1" C (Bartram) </strong> was an outright "beast" during the District Finals. In the quarter-finals, the Senior Center pulled down 20 plus rebounds and in the process recorded her 1000th rebound. Hanna also was dominant in the paint scoring 20 against Creekside. In the semifinals against Mandarin, Hanna put the team on her back and dominated the game with another impressive double-double (19 points and 15 rebounds) and 4 blocked shots.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91643" first="Jada" last="Jones"] 2023, 6’4" C (Sandlewood)</strong> was really aggressive in the District Semifinals. The junior posted 12 points and 9 rebounds in a solid performance against Oakleaf. Eight of her 12 points came from behind the free-throw line. Getting to the line 12 times was a result of Jone’s relentless effort in the paint.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91582" first="Nia" last="Brown"] 2022, 6’2" SF (Orange Park)</strong> scored 12 points and 8 rebounds against one [player_tooltip player_id="331713" first="Nia" last="Blocton"] one of the top centers on the First Coast. For the season, the Senior averaged 13 points and right at 10 rebounds per game. Brown had 15 in the semifinals to help lead Orange Park to their District Championship. Orange Park was picked to have a special year and Brown, [player_tooltip player_id="331745" first="Eris" last="Lester"], and Sam Hardison have led the charge all season long.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="243958" first="Sydney" last="Gomes"] 2022 SG (Nease)</strong> scored 20 points in the District semifinals and also grabbed 13 rebounds and 7 assists in defeat against Ponte Vedra. Gomes has been brilliant in her historical season. She currently sits right at 20 points per contest.
