I was able to make it out to two 6A area round playoff games this week. The Denton Braswell Bengals earned a 60-34 win over the Arlington Bowie Volunteers on Thursday, and the Plano East Panthers defeated the Richardson Eagles 78-39 on Friday. There were several individuals who caught my attention during these matchups. With that in mind, here are seven standout guard prospects from the second round of postseason action. Donavia Hall | 2022 | 5'11'' Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Plano East HS - Hall was comfortable and confident throughout the contest on Friday. She was drilling pull up threes with hands in her face, displaying great vision while keeping her teammates involved as a passer, and stayed active on the defensive end. The SMU commit is an alpha on the court, and you can tell that her teammates and opponents know that too. Even without star guard [player_tooltip player_id="65919" first="Kayla" last="Cooper"], Plano East has remained one of the best teams in the DFW area, and that is largely due to Hall taking her game to the next level. Savannah Adjetey | 2022 | 5'5'' Shooting Guard | Plano East HS - Adjetey made some great plays to force Richardson into committing turnovers. She came up with multiple steals and also had some production in transition. The senior two-guard showed that she can finish at the rim with some nice fully extended scoop lay ins, as well as bury the stop-and-pop mid-range jumper from the elbow. [player_tooltip player_id="202477" first="Jazmyne" last="Jackson"] | 2022 | 5'6'' Point Guard | Denton Braswell HS - Jackson casually recorded a 11-point 4-steal game on Thursday. She knocked down a three and converted at the basket in transition, but it was her unselfishness as a facilitator and her defense that made the biggest impact. She contributed to her teams' success within the flow of the game exactly as a point guard should in the postseason. Additionally, Jackson's handle is one of the best I've seen this season. Danae Crosby | 2024 | 5'7'' Combo Guard | Denton Braswell HS - Crosby is one of those players who you can just tell takes pride in their defense. She locked in at that end of the court on Thursday, remaining an engaged defender on and away from the ball for the entirety of the matchup. The sophomore guard also got in on the scoring action by making smart cuts to the basket, even showing that she can drain the floater over taller defenders. She ended the game with 8 points. Nadia Amadi | 2022 | 5'9'' Shooting Guard | Richardson HS - Amadi possesses twitchy quickness and plays with a lot of energy on offense. She gets downhill and doesn't shy away from contact at the basket. The Richardson senior showcased the ability to finish through contact as well as some three-point shooting capability from the corners. Beyond that, Amadi's competitive spirit shined in this matchup. Despite trailing big for most of the contest, she continued to play hard and had some fun in what would prove to be the finale of her high school career. She led her team in scoring with 17 points. Tristan Aldridge | 2025 | 5'9'' Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Richardson HS - Aldridge is an excellent three-point shooter from the catch. She knocked down three triples vs. Plano East on Friday. The 2025 prospect also contributed on the boards by chipping in five rebounds. Aldridge already has a nice game when operating as a three-and-D player. That said, she gained some invaluable experience during her first year of varsity ball and should only continue to grow her game from here. Seniya Wilson | 2023 | 5'5'' Point Guard | Arlington Bowie HS - Wilson showed off her intensity and high motor vs. Braswell. She possesses good speed with ball and likes to push the tempo on offense. At the other end, she flies around and plays with urgency. She really emptied the tank and gave it her all on Thursday. Additionally, the junior made numerous hustle plays and even showed that she is a capable shooter from behind the arc. This is someone to keep an eye on this summer.
