I wanted to catch some new faces as I’ll be updating the PGH rankings in a couple of weeks plus I wanted to see how those already listed are doing so again, LIVESTREAM is an option yet I DON’T DO BLOWOUTS
2022
Jayden Smallwood-SF (McKinney North)
Smallwood showed me a little bit of everything she had already shown me during the summer and that added up to a lot because she understands how to use her athleticism and stays under control as she attacks the rim and finishes strongly with good body control yet she also creates her shot under pressure and knocked down the outside shot, yeah she can drop the mid to long-range with ease
2023
Chloe Schaeffer-5’5 SG (Lovejoy)
Schaeffer mixed it up nicely starting with her rebounding at 5’5, yeah she gets a #THROWBACK hashtag as she took me back to yesteryear but she also showed she could score either off the dribble or from outside, and watching her “catch and shoot” was definitely impressive but she also showed she could handle the ball in the open court going coast to coast numerous times
2024
Ciara Harris-5’8 SF (McKinney North)
Harris is going to get the #THROWBACK also, not because she threw an attempted shot back, noooo it’s because of what she did at her listed height. She understands positioning and uses her body well inside the paint yet she battles for the ball off the rim, on both ends, she also runs the floor well but her inside moves and finishes definitely grabbed my attention
Kaelyn Hamilton Kaelyn Hamilton 5'10" | SF McKinney North | 2024 State TX -5’8 PG (McKinney North)
Hamilton had me searching for a picture, that’s what GOOGLE is for, so when I found a TWEET from 4 years ago, I just smiled but she’s showing that she can control the tempo at the 1 but also sees the floor in transition when she pushes it however her explosive first step and powerful finishes, she also can dish off the dribble are very nice, so is her pull-up but throw in her battling for rebounds and I was right, yet again
Brinley Ludlow-PG (Lovejoy)
Ludlow created her shot and understood when to take it which means she played within herself and is heady because that in itself is big, so was her dropping the midrange with a hand in her face
2025
Ryhan Balous-CG (McKinney North)
Balous joins the numerous freshman I knew nothing about, very nice upside because she already understands how to create her shot and knocked it down
Sydney Carr-CG (Lovejoy)
Carr has the same name as a former Houston area star that also starred at HBU yet this CARR showed signs of being electric because she handled the ball well, under this type of pressure raised my eyebrows, and scored off the dribble plus her initials are SC
