Let’s look at some of the ’22 prospects who are cracking the rankings for the first time.

[player_tooltip player_id="290628" first="Melissa" last="Whitmore"] | Hanover | 6’1’’| PF
Whitmore was one of the most significant pieces on a Hanover team that steamrolled through all their New Hampshire opponents and continued that high level of play in the NHIAA D2 Championship Game. She dominated during the playoffs, with her biggest performance in the semifinals vs. Laconia. Whitmore registered a triple-double of 18 points, 14 rebounds, 10 blocks, and even hit a couple of threes. Whitmore can do a little bit of everything and was a consistent anchor for Hanover during their title run.

[player_tooltip player_id="361621" first="Lola" last="Lesmond"] | Worcester Academy | 6’1’’| SG
Lesmond made up 1/3 of Worcester Academy’s " Big 3" that ended the season as the #6 seed in the NEPSAC AA. Lesmond’s shooting is deadly, and she gave opposing defenses a headache because it doesn’t matter how hard you close out, Lesmond is going to drill the shot. Her length, unlimited range, and confidence are unmatched, and she opened up the floor for the other 4 players on the court every game.

[player_tooltip player_id="387797" first="Mady" last="Calhoun"] | Barrington | 5’10’’| SG
Calhoun is another sharpshooting senior who has the green light from anywhere on the court. When I saw Calhoun play during the season against Bay View, she came right out the beginning of the game, launching threes effortlessly. Calhoun is not just a one-dimensional shooter. She uses her 5’10’’ frame well to rip down rebounds, too.

[player_tooltip player_id="395652" first="Mia" last="Fantauzzi"] | Dublin | 5’4’’| PG
Fantauzzi ended her high school career with a championship dropping 16 points in the NEPSAC Class D Title Game. Despite her size, Fantauzzi never has had a problem getting her shot off as she destroyed teams from the outside all year long. She eclipsed the 1000 point plateau and did so with a signature three-ball. That three was 1 of her 10 on the night, and Fantauzzi ended with 36 points showing how automatic she is with the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="360549" first="Lexi" last="Garcia"] | Pingree | 5’6’’| PG
When I watched Garcia against Brooks in the season opener, I knew how she moves and how often she gets to the free-throw line that big scoring games would follow later in the season. Her athleticism is off the charts, and her quickness in the halfcourt helped her blow by perimeter defense. She put up 34 points against Milton Academy and had another game where she scored 31 points in 3 quarters. So when Garcia gets into a rhythm offensively, she can fill up the stat sheet. Her outstanding play did not go unrecognized either, as she was named a NEPSAC All-Star.
