The 4A/3A State Tournament has come to a close and PGH Washington was live and direct Thursday-Saturday for most of the games. In the games we watched, there were several standouts in each class and we will kick things off with the seniors of 2022.
5’7 PG [player_tooltip player_id="27930" first="Mya" last="Hatchett Groce"] (Pasco HS) - Groce played outstanding basketball in her final high school games at the state tournament. She is tough on defense, plays uptempo and willed her team from start to finish. An unsigned senior in the 2022 class.
6’2 F [player_tooltip player_id="27956" first="Cori" last="Wilcox"] (Lake Stevens HS) - Tough on the boards, competed on the post on both ends and finished in the paint. Eastern Washington signee.
6’4 [player_tooltip player_id="27938" first="Camille" last="Jentzsch"] (Lake Stevens HS) - Strong post presence, cleaned up on the boards and scored on some put backs. Eastern Washington signee.
6’0 PF [player_tooltip player_id="27925" first="Alyson" last="Deaver"] (Sumner HS) - Super standout from the tourney. Rebounded, set hard screens, scored in the post and hit a few pull-up jumpers. Helped Sumner to a 2nd place finish in 4A. Dixie State signee.
6’0 PF [player_tooltip player_id="27926" first="Catelyn" last="Deaver"] (Sumner HS) - Tough nose for the ball, always in the mix for rebounds and loose balls. Jumper has shown improvement as well. Dixie State signee.
5’11 SG [player_tooltip player_id="326009" first="Ella" last="Gallatin"] (Snohomish HS) - One of the top hustlers from the entire state tourney. High level motor, good slasher and down hill scorer. Eastern Washington signee.
6’0 SF [player_tooltip player_id="156428" first="Tatum" last="Thompson"] (Woodinville HS) - Long and agile wing that stood out in every aspect of the game. Scoring in transition, behind the back passing, steals and pull-up jumpers in the half court were all on display. Boise State signee.
5’8 PG [player_tooltip player_id="27947" first="Veronica" last="Sheffey"] (Woodinville HS) - 4A state tourney MVP led her squad to a state championship. Sheffey can defend, rebound and assist at a high level at the PG. San Diego signee.
6’4 C [player_tooltip player_id="27933" first="Elise" last="Hani"] (Lake Washington HS) - An absolute mismatch in the 3A causing problems for every opposing team including a dominant defensive performance against Garfield in the state title game. Soft touch around the hoop and makes her free throws. Washington volleyball signee.
