Continue ReadingAs the high school season has come to an end let’s look at some of the ranked players that had a breakout season with some being instrumental in their team playing in the State Finals. We will start off with one the tallest female players in the state of Alabama; JaNya Polk JaNya Polk 6'5" | C Oneonta | 2023 State AL | C 6-5 | Oneonta. JaNya, yes stands at 6-5 and can play the 4 or 5 depending on the type of offense. She can disrupt an opposing team’s offense with her size, and can handle the ball well enough to release some pressure. Her desire to learn and improve her game has definitely been an upsize to her game. JaNya at 6-5 would be a definite plus to alot of college program. Next up is Kennedi Wagner Kennedi Wagner 5'8" | PG Ramsay | 2023 State AL | SG 5-7 | Ramsay, and if you are looking for a shooter this is your choice. Kennedi worked hard last summer and it showed with game this past high school season. She was one of the leading 3 point shooters in the state; even with a hand in her face she was making shots. Kennedi has the long and lanky body that is vital part of a press that most team play and being disruptive. Kiara Howard Kiara Howard 5'3" | PG Vigor | 2023 State AL | PG 5-3 | Vigor, was the catalyst that led Vigor to the State Finals. She can shoot from mostly anywhere on the floor, a pesty defender and brings high energy to the floor. Kiara is also a nightmare for most defenses because of that energy and will to shoot and win. With much hard work, she raised her game to another level and helped her team to a State Final appearance. Chloe Siegel Chloe Siegel 5'7" | CG Deshler` | 2023 State AL | CG 5-7 | Deshler has always been in the rankings but during this season, Chloe stepped her game up another notch. She is one of the leading shooters not just in the state but nation; game this year where she broke the national high school record for made 3s in a game; 18. During the State FInals, she had six 3s in the state championoship game, which was instrumental in her being named to the 4A State Finals All-Tournament team. Chloe is also an efficient rebounder, which is another part of her game that she stepped up a notch this season.
As the season has come to end, we look forward to seeing how this class of players will progress going into their senior year.|
