Denise has been involved in girls basketball in the state of Alabama since 1995, she began as a parent with a 6-0 sixth grader playing AAU for the Alabama Roadrunners. In 1996, her and her husband became actively involved with this program, and was instrumental in the growth of this program. In the early nineties she was elected as the state Denise has been involved in girls basketball in the state of Alabama since 1995, she began as a parent with a 6-0 sixth grader playing AAU for the Alabama Roadrunners. In 1996, her and her husband became actively involved with this program, and was instrumental in the growth of this program. In the early nineties she was elected as the state chairperson for Alabama AAU Girls Basketball, a position she remained in until 2012. After six years with the Alabama Roadrunners, she was asked by Tim Mullins to run the high school division of his Alabama Twisters girls basketball club. Her and her husband, Gerard are not the sole owners and operators of this program. In her 26 years of involvement in girls basketball in the state of Alabama, she has been instructmental in see over 250 girls get college scholarships, and many more playing professional in the WNBA or overseas. Denise and Gerard, also were the owners of an off-season professional women's team; the Alabama Power that played in Birmingham for 4 years before the league folded. She also have many former players that are coaches now on both the high school and college levels. It is Denise's objective to bring the talent in the state of Alabama to forefront on the national level, and to let the world know there are some good female girl basketball players in a state only known for football.
