Plymouth Christian advanced to the state championship game with a 50-39 win over a skilled Adrian Lenawee Christian team. They have the talent needed to walk away with a state title this season.
Cara Anderson (2022, F, Adrian Lenawee Christian)
Anderson played a really good semifinal game. Her 4-6 shooting from behind the arc really kept Plymouth Christian within striking distance. She had all 12 of her points on triples. Anderson also grabbed 4 rebounds in the game.
Anna Fernandez Anna Fernandez 5'7" | PG Plymouth Christian | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, Plymouth Christian)
Fernandez is usually a prolific shooter, but tonight she starred in her ability to chase down the ball and attack the glass from the perimeter. She finished the game with a double-double, scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Fernandez also added 4 assists to her stat line. She got the job done on both ends as well, getting 3 steals in the process.
Morganne Houk Morganne Houk 5'7" | SG Plymouth Christian Academy | 2023 State MI (2023, SG, Plymouth Christian)
Houk was incredibly solid in all aspects last night. She finished with a game high 19 points and grabbing 8 rebounds as well. Houk did a good job getting to the line where she connected on 5-6 free throws. She also added 4 assists. Houk was solid defensively against some really good guards from the opposing team.
Reid Osterman (2022, PG, Baraga)
Osterman wouldn’t go down without a fight. She had a team high 17 points and also grabbed 9 rebounds. Osterman connected on 7 of 8 free throws. She wasn’t afraid to take the big shot and appeared more than ready and more than prepared for the big stage.
Emma Riley Emma Riley 5'7" | PG Fowler | 2023 State MI (2023, PG, Fowler)
Riley didn’t hit her stride shooting, but she found ways to make herself a top performer in the semis. She scored 17 points and grabbed 9 boards. Riley also dished out 3 assists. She was very good on the defensive end picking up 3 steals. Riley did a great job drawing contact and getting to the free throw line where she connected on 6-7.
Mia Riley Mia Riley PG Fowler | 2022 State MI (2022, PG, Fowler)
Riley was a terror in her team’s win. She had a game high 24 points in the contest. Riley extended possessions, grabbing 10 of her 11 rebounds on the offensive end of the floor. Her defense was stellar, showing the ability to pressure the ball and step into passing lanes. Riley had 5 steals on the evening.
