HONORABLE MENTIONS

[player_tooltip player_id="335984" first="Olivia" last="Bussell"] (2022, CG, Monroe)
Bussell is really fast and brings a lot of energy to the defensive end. The ball was never sage when Bussell was playing D.
[player_tooltip player_id="147769" first="Tadassa" last="Brown"] (2022, PF, Brooklyn Columbia Central)
Brown blocked and altered a lot of shots with her length. She was always on the mind of offensive players as they drove the lane.
[player_tooltip player_id="147747" first="Brooke" last="Daniels"] (2022, PG, L’Anse Creuse North)
Daniels is a bona fide playmaker and she did it on both ends. She could defend the entire length of the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="147728" first="Alaina" last="Diaz"] (2022, CG, Hudsonville)
Diaz always makes her mark on defense with her quickness, speed, and hustle.
[player_tooltip player_id="179087" first="Adelaide" last="Douglass"] (2022, C, Mattawan)
Douglass is a game changer with her post defense. She challenged shots and controlled the paint.
[player_tooltip player_id="189311" first="Sophia" last="Gray"] (2022, C, Bedford)
Gray is just really fundamentally sound on defense. She moves well from side to side, making it difficult to find an opening close to the rim
[player_tooltip player_id="277635" first="Davai" last="Matthews"] (2022, PF, Wayne Memorial)
Matthews is strong and versatile on defense. She has the strength to D up in the paint and the footwork and athleticism needed to step out.
[player_tooltip player_id="147776" first="Ella" last="Miller"] (2022, PF, East Lansing)
Miller might not be flashy on defense, but she’s more than effective. She simply locks opponents down.
[player_tooltip player_id="147739" first="Amanda" last="Roach"] (2022, CG, Hartland)
Roach brings an amazing unparalelled energy to the floor on D. She does an excellent job trapping a ball handler on half court.
[player_tooltip player_id="147748" first="Hannah" last="Toutant"] (2022, C, Macomb Dakota)
Toutant’s defense resembles the rest of her game....guts and heart. She simply won’t be outworked.
[player_tooltip player_id="147717" first="Madisen" last="Wardell"] (2022, F, Detroit Edison)
Wardell could quite simply defend from anywhere on the court, whether it be in the paint or on the perimeter.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

[player_tooltip player_id="147715" first="Theryn" last="Hallock"] (2022, SG, Forest Hills Central)
Hallock is a premier perimeter defender. She has excellent defensive footwork and the athleticism to match. Hallock is gritty and tough, and it shines through on the defensive end. She can play physical defense with the best of them, as well as match up athletically. Mark my words, Michigan State has a future All B1G defender on their hands.
