At the immediate end of the basketball season, AAU coaches round their respective teams together; pursuing the best players for a chance at the championship for their respective regions. Below are my top point guards to watch for this summer.
Ereauna Hardaway Ereauna Hardaway 5'7" | PG Jonesboro | 2022 State AR | 5’5 | Jonesboro High School/Mavs Elite | 2022 |
One of the most productive players in Arkansas girls basketball, Ereauna Hardaway Ereauna Hardaway 5'7" | PG Jonesboro | 2022 State AR is set to make a big impact for the Mavs this summer. The UNT commit finished with 22pts in her final high school game. The 5-foot-5 point guard averaged 14 points, 6 assists and 3.5 rebounds for Jonesboro High in 21′. With the Jonesboro Sun’s Best Under The Sun Player of the Year award, along with multiple all team bids, Hardaway is set to add new hardware to her collection. She is your prototype point guard, she literally can do it all. Along with being a part of the 1000 point club, she is an outstanding playmaker known for giving up her good shots for better ones for her team. When she’s on, so is the rest of the team.
Marlee Bright Marlee Bright 5'6" | PG CenterPoint | 2022 State AR | 5’6 | Centerpoint | 2022 |
A strong and quick point guard, she leads her team in assists, being the focal point of a well-oiled machine. One of the fastest in the state, Bright’s transition offense fatigues teams on its own. Add in her ability to finish at the rim and one of the best change of pace games in Arkansas, Bright’s game is practically unstoppable. Marlee is a point guard with a solid frame who asserts her will on the defense. She can also create space off the dribble and knock down the three-pointer.
Chloe Clardy Chloe Clardy 5'9" | PG Conway | 2023 State AR | 5’9 | Conway High School | 2023 |
With 25+ offers, Chloe Clardy is looking for another big summer. One of the top players in the country, She can score on all three levels. She can give you points off the dribble, spot up for the three, score in transition, as well as pass. Her maturity has developed just as fast as her skills as she is just a junior going into her senior season for the Wampus Cats. The 5-foot-9 junior guard had led the Wampus Cats to a 29-2 record and the Class 6A quarterfinals. Clardy averaged 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.6 assists.
Sanai Delgado | 5’8 | North Little Rock High School | 2024 |
You can’t give her room or leave her open. You have to be aware of where she is at all times because if you don’t she will make you pay.. A long guard looking to make an impact this summer, Sanai’s ability to knock down shots will be her greatest tool for this AAU season. an upcoming sophomore, Sanai is the number one player in Arkansas’ 2024 class. Looking to capitalize from that look for her to be more aggressive and assertive. With her long frame, she is able to defend multiple positions, where I think we will see her progress as more of a shot blocker this summer.
