The Semifinals: D3 And D4 Predictions And Key Matchups

The semifinals have arrived in Michigan for the Division 3 and Division 4 basketball teams. There are top notch teams with great players on the rosters. There are also exciting matchups to watch within these games. Some of these matchups will play a big part in which team comes out on top. I’m going to give you a key matchup and a prediction for the Division 1 and Division 2 semifinals. The key matchups and predictions for Division 1 and Division 2 can be found below. <h2>DIVISION 3</h2> <h4>Maple City Glen Lake vs. Ypsilanti Arbor Prep</h4> March 17, Noon, at the Breslin Center Key Matchup: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="178852" first="Grace" last="Bradford"] (2022, PG, Maple City Glen Lake vs. [player_tooltip player_id="147714" first="Mya" last="Petticord"] (2022, PG, Ypsilanti Arbor Prep)</strong> We’ve all heard about the superstar at Arbor Prep, [player_tooltip player_id="147714" first="Mya" last="Petticord"]. She’s a bona fide playmaker and might have the best ball skills in the state of Michigan. Don’t forget about [player_tooltip player_id="178852" first="Grace" last="Bradford"] though, because this athlete can score the ball. She’s a solid shooter that has put up points in bunches at times this season. She surpassed the 1000 point mark this year. Prediction: Ypsilanti Arbor Prep <h4>Kent City vs. Madison Heights Bishop Foley</h4> March 17, 2PM, at the Breslin Center Key Matchup: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="277638" first="Emmalyn" last="Geers"] (2022, F, Kent City) vs. [player_tooltip player_id="244301" first="Ryan" last="Moorer"] (2024, PF, Bishop Foley)</strong> Geers is a versatile worker that prides herself in toughness and the willingness to do the little things. She’ll play whatever role it is that her team needs in order to win. Moorer is a superstar in the making that has all the tools of an elite type player. If Geers can neutralize Moorer, Kent City will have a big advantage. <h2>DIVISION 4</h2> <h4>Baraga vs. Fowler</h4> March 17, 5:30PM, at the Breslin Center <strong>Reid Osterman (2022, PG, Baraga) vs. [player_tooltip player_id="178862" first="Mia" last="Riley"] (2022, PG, Fowler)</strong> These 2 lead guards have both been very effective, but in pretty different ways. Osterman has been setting the table and scoring as needed, as Baraga has rolled through the state playoffs. She’s been incredibly efficient and effective all season. Riley has been more aggressive offensively, using her ball handling to break down the defense and create opportunities for herself and her teammates. Prediction: Fowler <h4>Adrian Lenawee Christian vs. Plymouth Christian</h4> March 17, 7:30PM, at the Breslin Center Key Matchup: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147782" first="Anna" last="Fernandez"] (2022, PG, Plymouth Christian) vs. [player_tooltip player_id="227584" first="Lizzy" last="Scharer"] (2022, PG, Adrian Lenawee Christian)</strong> Fernandez and Scharer are excellent at controlling the pace and feel of the game, although they do it in distinctively different ways. Fernandez can shoot the grip of the ball and has in the gym range on her jumper.She and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="190186" first="Morganne" last="Houk"] </strong>form what might be the best pure shooting backcourt in the state. Meanwhile, Scharer attacks the lane with her handles on the right side. She breaks down the defense and creates scoring opportunities for her teammates.
