Top Unsigned Guards in Northeast Florida

The season is over and champions have been crowned.  We had a great season here in Northeast Florida.  A lot of talented players in the class of 2022 signed to continue their careers in college.  There are still some good players available to be signed here in Northeast Florida.  Let’s take a look at some of the backcourt players. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="331732" first="Indreauna" last="Bargeron"]</strong> | Andrew Jackson | PG Indreauna is a speedy point guard that wreaks havoc on the defensive end.  She is one of the best on-ball defenders in Northeast Florida. Most of what she does won’t show up on the stat sheet but still is vital in her team’s success on the court.  She always guards the opponent’s best ball handler in an effort to disrupt their offense and that’s exactly what usually happens.  They get so frustrated that they either pass the ball, let someone else bring the ball up the court, or turn the ball over which usually creates easy baskets for her team on the other end.  Indreauna is not just a defensive player though.  She is very effective on the offensive end.  She is great on the dribble-drive causing the defensive to collapse.  She can finish at the basket or find an open teammate for an open shot. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="248620" first="Avery" last="Cannon"]</strong> | Fleming Island | SG Avery has gotten better every year of her high school career.  She is one of the best three-point shooters in Northeast Florida.  She hit 80 three-pointers this season which is good for 3rd best in Northeast Florida and puts her in good company behind only [player_tooltip player_id="91575" first="Maddie" last="Millar"] and [player_tooltip player_id="91651" first="Taliah" last="Scott"].  The 80 three-pointers are also good for 9th place in the whole state of Florida.  Avery also broke the 1000 point mark this season and led her team in almost every category showing that she is not just a shooter. <strong>Paige Hulihan</strong> | Ponte Vedra | PG/SG Paige was the leader of a very young but talented team.  She led the team in rebounds, assists, and steals for the season.  She plays both guard positions but looks to set her teammates up first rather than seeking her own shot.  She didn’t take many shots but when she did they usually went in.  She can hit the three but prefers the midrange shot.  Paige is also a good defender and rebounder at her position. <strong>Ayanni Noisette</strong> | Westside | PG Ayanni has good court awareness.  She always has her head up looking for her teams. She has a nice handle on the ball and can pass the ball with either hand.  She attacks the basket hard and can finish with either hand.  She also has a nice jump shot and can score on all three levels.  Ayanni is also a good defender.  She has very active hands and feet.  She is a good floor general and makes her teammates better. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="353656" first="Saraphen" last="Robinson"]</strong> | Mandarin | PG Saraphen is a ball hawk on defense.  She stays in the passing lane and gets deflections that lead to steals.  She is one of the best on-ball defenders in Northeast Florida.  She usually draws the toughest defensive assignments.  Saraphen is not just a defensive player though.  She is a pass-first point guard and always looking to set up her teammates.  She can score at the basket and knock down outside shots if left open. <strong>Alyssa Sherman</strong> | Ridgeview | SG Alyssa is a great example of what a team player should look like and was one of the leaders of an improving team.  She is a team-first player and does whatever her team needs in order to be successful.  A lot of what she brings to the table may not show up in the box score but is just as valuable.  Alyssa has a good shot and operates mostly in the midrange but can hit the three.  She is doesn’t shy away from contact which makes her good at getting to the free-throw line.  She is also a feisty defender and a good rebounder at her size.
