UIL-5A Cedar Park defeats Frisco Memorial in Double OT

The game was not pretty yet it was exciting and some days, the shots are just not going to fall, that’s the law of averages yet the stars from each team definitely made a huge difference <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135384" first="Jasmyn" last="Lott"]-5’8 G (Frisco Memorial) </strong> Lott singlehandedly kept them in the game scoring 21 points on 10/20 shooting as well as knocking down her only free throw yet her pull-up jumper, especially in transition was a thorn all game yet the UNLV signee fouled out in overtime and that just about did it because the offense basically goes through her <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="388157" first="Falyn" last="Lott"]-6’0 (Frisco Memorial)</strong> Sophomore sister has a LOTT of potential, she’s long and athletic and stands at the magic number, and her defense on the interior as well as her stepping out the paint to apply heat played a big part as well. She scored 6 points, so did <strong>5’9 senior G Jordan Connerly</strong> <strong>Brynn Lusby-5’9 SF (Frisco Memorial)</strong> and teammate<strong> Makayla Vation-6’0 freshman</strong> F both have nice upside, Vation uses her athleticism nicely, she rebounded, defended, and played the passing lane while Lusby definitely battled for rebounds and led the team with 8 yet her on the ball defense was big <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="134028" first="Gisella" last="Maul"]-5’10 G (Cedar Park) </strong> Maul is one of the top players in the country, I saw that in the 6th grade when I called her a #D1Lock yet her ability to get to the basket and finish was just over the top, she connected on 3 and one opportunities in the first half I believe, not sure how many she finished with yet I do know she finished with 27 points on 8/19 from the field yet peep this, 11/12 from the free-throw line as well as mental toughness throughout the event <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96925" first="Shelby" last="Hayes"]-6’2 F/C (Cedar Park)</strong> Hayes is so smooth and with her size and skillset, she’ll make the transition at Rice quickly yet the senior closes out her career undefeated with B2B State Championships and closes out her high school career with 12/7. Watching her overpower defenders has been a treat for me because she falls into those days of yesteryear I miss dearly and label #THROWBACK <strong>Reece Prater-Merrill (Cedar Park)-6’0 G/F</strong> Prater-Merrill hit some big shots, including an and-one in the first half to tie the game at 18 yet she played within herself and closes out her career with that State Championship <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96143" first="Molly" last="Ly"]-5’5 GG (Cedar Park)</strong> Ly is a talented pomt-guard that understands something very important, how to control the tempo and who to get the ball to, well she also understands and shows how to handle the ball under pressure as well as apply pressure on defense, she did all of that for the win
