With the state tournament having concluded, and with graduations just a couple of months away, I wanted to take the time to look at the uncommitted 2022 prospects who remain available in Indiana. Below I have highlighted five specific prospects from the point guard position, but I’ve also indicated all remaining point guards from our rankings list of 250 prospects in the Class of 2022. To the best of my knowledge, and from all of the information I’ve been able to gather via college coaches, high school & grassroots coaches, and the internet, these prospects below are still uncommitted at this time. If you see someone listed below who you know is committed (<em>or has already chosen a college destination, even if for another sport or strictly for academics</em>), please DM us on Twitter @PGHIndiana and let us know. Thank you in advance for your help!
<span style="font-size: 10pt;">(<em>The ranking numbers listed below are out of all 250 total 2022 prospects we have listed, regardless of position.</em>)</span>
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>77. [player_tooltip player_id="128135" first="Tressa" last="Senesac"], 5-6 PG, Benton Central H.S.</strong></span>
- Tressa had a really nice Senior season, and while she has always been fun to watch due to her speed, quickness, and feistiness, I felt like this Winter she was as disciplined as she’s ever been. She picked her spots well, read defenses, and drew help in order to find open teammates as well as anyone. She still remained an effective scorer, and she did a nice job of finishing with a variety of runners and floaters in and around the paint. I still think she excels the most defensively, and she can be a game-changer at that end of the floor, even at the next level. If she’s wanting college hoops, she could be a small college steal at this point.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>122. [player_tooltip player_id="182141" first="Madelynn" last="Denny"], 5-4 PG, Mooresville H.S.</strong></span>
- Madelynn was a huge proponent of Mooresville’s magical, Cinderella-type run through the Class 4A state tournament. She is a strong, tough-nosed, lead-by-example point guard who always plays with a tremendous motor. Over the last couple of years, she has become a more aggressive scorer, but she does so without forcing the action. She takes what the defense gives her, and she’s able to get into the paint and create for others. I think she brings a lot of intangible qualities to a team as well, and she could be that "culture" kid a lot of small colleges seek to round out their rosters.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><b>140. [player_tooltip player_id="267400" first="Jaidn" last="Green"], 5-6 PG, Evansville North H.S.</b></span>
- Not many people outside of the "Pocket City" are familiar with Jaidn, but this athletic little guard is a nice talent, and she helped lead the Lady Huskies to a 19-4 record this season, including a holiday tourney win over North Central (<em>Indianapolis</em>). She has nice length, speed and quickness, and she can score the ball from all three levels. She’s best when on attack, because she can create for herself or others. Defensively, she does a nice job of using her length and quickness at the front of their press, but she can also lock up in the half-court and really bother the opponent’s primary ball-handler.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>151. [player_tooltip player_id="267402" first="Tynlie" last="Neal"], 5-6 PG/SG, Clinton Prairie H.S.</strong></span>
- Tynlie has been a Varsity contributor all four years, but she transitioned from being a shooter/scorer when she was younger, to being more of a scoring point guard the last two years. She has good strength, solid length, and she plays with a really nice motor. She’s tough attacking the basket downhill, and she draws a lot of contact and gets to the line frequently. She does still show occasional touch outside, but her game is mostly finding driving lanes and scoring or distributing to open teammates. What I like most, though, is that she plays the position like a power forward...she’ll rebound and defend with physicality.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">237. [player_tooltip player_id="377048" first="Jada" last="Stansberry"], 5-3 PG, Alexandria-Monroe H.S.</span>
</strong>- Jada is one of those small school kids who could fit in at a 3A/4A high school, because she definitely has talent and natural instincts for the game. She is quick/fast, and she’s very feisty. While she does gamble a little defensively, she has great length at her height, she has quick hands, and she has been one of the state’s best pickpockets the last couple of seasons (<em>6.3 steals per game this season</em>). Offensively, she does a nice job taking care of the basketball, she can get gaps with ease, and she can find open teammates for rhythm jumpers. She’s another one who could come into a small college situation and cause havoc.
