With the state tournament having concluded, and with graduations just a couple of months away, I wanted to take the time to look at the uncommitted 2022 prospects who remain available in Indiana. Below I have highlighted five specific prospects from the off-guard/shooting guard position, but I’ve also indicated all remaining off-guards/shooting guards from our rankings list of 250 prospects in the Class of 2022. To the best of my knowledge, and from all of the information I’ve been able to gather via college coaches, high school & grassroots coaches, and the internet, these prospects below are still uncommitted at this time. If you see someone listed below who you know is committed (<em>or has already chosen a college destination, even if for another sport or strictly for academics</em>), please DM us on Twitter @PGHIndiana and let us know. Thank you in advance for your help!
<span style="font-size: 10pt;">(<em>The ranking numbers listed below are out of all 250 total 2022 prospects we have listed, regardless of position.</em>)</span>
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>13. [player_tooltip player_id="49275" first="Jyah" last="LoVett"], 5-7 CG, Fort Wayne Snider H.S.</strong></span>
- Jyah spent most of her high school career in California, but when she returned to the Hoosier state this season, it took her a few games to adjust to the style of play and to her new team. Through the first 13 games, Jyah averaged 14.9 points per game and made 13 3-pointers. However, over the final 11 games of the season, the talented combo guard averaged 22.5 points per game and made 31 3-pointers. She is a strong North/South athlete who can score the ball from all three levels. She has ball skill, but I would consider her more of a scorer than a true point guard. She has a lot of Division-I interest and is the best prospect in Indiana still available.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>25. [player_tooltip player_id="34558" first="Ryan" last="Viele"], 5-8 CG, Hamilton Southeastern H.S.</strong></span>
- Unfortunately, Ryan spent the entirety of the 2021-2022 season injured. She did take the floor briefly in their final home game, which I can only assume was Senior Night. However, Ryan is a talented prospect who I think a number of schools are under-recruiting. She has great length, speed, and quickness. Despite being slight of frame, she has a nice toughness about her and doesn’t shy away from physicality. She has gotten noticeably stronger each year, and she has greatly improved her ball skill and her ability to consistently knock down jumpers outside. I also feel like she can impact a game defensively as well.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><b>60. [player_tooltip player_id="97260" first="Trinity" last="Barnes"], 5-7 SG, Gary West Side Leadership Academy</b></span>
- Trinity began her career at West Side, then spent the middle two seasons at Lighthouse CPA. Returning to West Side this year, she was an absolute monster offensively at times. She put together a pair of 40-point games, averaged 23.5 for the duration, but she also impacts other parts of the game (<em>3.3 apg, 4.6 rpg, 5.5 spg</em>). She is a talented athlete with speed and quickness, she’s long for her height, and she has a wiry-strong frame that allows her to absorb contact at both ends of the floor. Beyond that, she is constantly in a stance, whether it be defensively on the ball or offensively ready to attack. She plays with a nice motor.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>142. [player_tooltip player_id="128139" first="Maleea" last="Roland"], 5-7 SG, New Albany H.S.</strong></span>
- I first saw Maleea between her 8th and 9th grade years, and she showed athletic talent plus the aggressiveness to be a high-level scorer. While she played well at times throughout her career, she never had that standout season...until this year. She made a big jump this season, averaging 15.7 points per game against a fairly tough schedule. She has an athletic frame, speed and quickness, plus she’s a creative scorer who can finish at the rim, pull up in the mid-range game, or knock down the occasional 3-pointer. She also did a nice job of finding open teammates, and she was much more impactful defensively.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">244. [player_tooltip player_id="377054" first="Jada" last="Rhonehouse"], 5-8 SG/SF, Fremont H.S.</span>
</strong>- Jada is another kid who made a nice jump in production during her Senior season. After averaging just over ten points per game each of the last two seasons, she led Fremont this year with a 16.2 point per game average. She increased her rebounding by nearly two per game, and she added one more steal per game. She has really nice length, wiry strength, and she’s a fairly fluid athlete who plays with nice versatility. She can act as a scorer or take on a point forward role when necessary. Jada also shows some flexibility defensively, as she can take on bigger guards, wings, and even undersized forwards.
