With several members of the class of 2022 making decisions this past month, we take a look at what interior players are still available.

We had [player_tooltip player_id="91565" first="Emani" last="Theodule"] (American Heritage Plantation), [player_tooltip player_id="248869" first="Ionna" last="Garcia"] (Holy Trinity Episcopal), and [player_tooltip player_id="220011" first="Maya" last="Williams"] (St. Thomas Aquinas) making college decisions this month, several of the top 2022 players are off the board. We take a look at who is still available.

Simmons Blanche Ely teammate, [player_tooltip player_id="91568" first="Zaria" last="Blake"] is another one of the state’s top uncommitted players. Blake is a long, athletic, versatile 6’1 forward who can run the floor, block shots, rebound and finish at the rim. Her overall offensive skill is a bit undeveloped, but she has a ton of raw talent and a lot of potential. Her best basketball is ahead of her. There are not many players 6’0 or taller still available and Blake in the right system and with the right player development coach could be a diamond in the roof that has a bit time college career!

[player_tooltip player_id="248836" first="Carlee" last="Janikowski-Warden"] (Carrollwood Day School) is 6’3 and can play both the forward and center. She can play the high-low game very well in a two-post system, while also showcasing range out to the high post and short corner. She moves well for her size and has ability to be an intimidating inside presence with her rebounding and shot blocking ability.
[player_tooltip player_id="91567" first="Olivia" last="Delancy"] (Boca Ciega) is a versatile 6’0 wing / forward who is a skilled offensive player that has broad shoulders, a strong build, and can mix it up down low while also playing on the perimeter. Transferring in for her Senior year, Delancy put up big numbers, averaging 23 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Playing as a hybrid wing /forward stepping out and also playing on the interior, Delancy shot an impressive 53% from the field and also got to the free line 5+ times a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="91580" first="Riana" last="Doctor"] (Gulliver Prep) is another member of the class of 2022 that suffered the injury bug during her playing career, missing significant time due to multiple injuries. But the 6’0 wing/forward was healthy this season for Gulliver Prep and showcased her ability to knock it down from 15” all the way out to the 3-point line as well as being able to put the ball to the floor from both the high post and the wing. Her 15.9 points per game were 2nd on the team and her 8.6 rebounds where 1st on the team. The combination of Doctor’s height, length, and offensive skill make her a tough guard.
[player_tooltip player_id="154909" first="Amari" last="Jackson"] is a 6’1 Forward / Center who only appeared in 4 games for DME Academy. In her 4 games, she was very effective averaging 6.8 points per game. Anyone looking to add height and inside presence, has to look at Jackson. She finishes well in the paint, rebounds the ball on both the offensive and defensive glass, and does a good job challenging and altering shots in the paint.

At 6’3, [player_tooltip player_id="91560" first="Paris" last="Gaines"] (Jones HS) could be the biggest unknown in the state of Florida. Bursting onto the travel circuit scene as a Freshman, Gaines picked up a tremendous amount of interest from college coaches all across the country at high level BCS D1 college programs. She is a legit 6’3 and has missed times both at the high school and travel circuit for various reasons and it remains a question if she desires to continue to play basketball at the collegiate level. But when she is engaged and playing hard, Gaines is a very impactful player who can finish with both hands, has 15” range, and is an impactful rebounder and shot blocker with great size!

Continuing you with a common theme, some of the top unsigned / uncommitted players in Florida that are available are due to injury. [player_tooltip player_id="154840" first="Etaria" last="Gibbons"] (Northeast HS) also missed a full travel season due to an ACL injury. The 6’0 forward is a raw athlete who has a ton of potential. She plays hard, chases down balls, and contests everything in the paint. She is most effective on the offensive end at the high post putting the ball to the floor with her right hand and running the floor in transition.
