TOP 5 NEW ADDITIONS
#19 Dilan Tubbs Dilan Tubbs 6'0" | SG Hopkins | 2025 State MN – guard, Hopkins
We haven’t seen as much of Dilan over the past year or so as we would have wanted but having returned to action this winter with the Royals she is likely to make a very big splash now. Due to injury, Tubbs wasn’t on the floor last summer as we did our first official evaluations of the Class of 2025. That is the only reason that she wasn’t included in the Freshmen 50 . Those of you who saw Dilan in previous years know full well what she is capable of. The sky is truly the limit. The 6-footer is long and athletic, rebounds with passion, and puts in the work. She’s also a great competitor and has the kind of intangibles every program needs. We’ve eased Tubbs into the top 20 for now but that’s probably just an entry point. There is a very good chance that Dilan will work her way up the list in the months ahead.
#21 Tory Jennissen Tory Jennissen 6'3" | PF Sauk Centre | 2025 State MN – forward, Sauk Centre
When the high school season began Tori was anonymous – well at least compared to most 75-inch 9th graders with Division 1 basketball potential. Tucked away in Sauk Centre, with her focus firmly on volleyball and no significant AAU experience to speak of, the lanky forward was not known to many. Fast forward to the Breakdown Winter Lakes Classic in Alexandria in the first week of February, which turned out to be Tori’s coming out party. As soon as we published our evaluation of Tori, her phone started ringing with AAU opportunities. We’re told she plans to stay close to home and be part of the strong 2025 West Central United squad. With a berth in the section finals on the line, Tori scored 30 points on Wednesday in Sauk Centre’s win over Holdingford making it even more obvious why she is now #21.
#45 Cierra Kortan Cierra Kortan 5'8" | CG Sauk Centre | 2025 State MN – guard, Sauk Centre
Unlike her teammate Jennissen, Cierra’s reputation as a quality player/prospect was well-established prior to her 9th grade campaign. Coming off a very strong AAU season with North Tartan Elite, Cierra had proven that she could score, create and defend against high-level opponents. This winter she polished that reputation even more, and her performance at the Winter Lakes Classic played a key role in earning Cierra a spot in the Top 50. She loves to attack, but has the intelligence and court sense to understand when that’s a good idea and when it’s not. Her physical presence is a differentiating factor. She is solidly built, has a lot of strength for a freshman, and isn’t at all afraid to bang around a bit. Combined with a superior skillset, that makes Cierra an exciting prospect.
#53 Addyson Kath Addyson Kath 5'11" | SG Minnewaska | 2025 State MN – guard, Minnewaska
Addy was a near-miss when we put out the Freshmen 50 in November. Coming off a very strong fall and summer, Kath was one of the most improved players in the class heading into the high school season. Minnewaska is really off of high school’s beaten path, and the Lakers’ lineup featured seven seniors this season. That has left Kath toiling away in the background. That’s about to change as we enter the AAU season and we fully expect Addy to shine. At 5’11 she’s got size and length, she’s mobile, and she can jump. Kath is a really good rebounder and can block shots better than most. Defensively she is highly disruptive. On offense she loves to attack the basket and has little trouble getting to the rim. Addy is just getting started and her potential is up there for sure.
#54 Anna Trachsel Anna Trachsel 5'7" | CG Prior Lake | 2025 State MN – guard, Prior Lake
Both of Anna’s teams – Prior Lake High School and Minnesota Stars Borowicz – are loaded with marquee prospects. Those talented performers tend to draw the lion’s share of the notoriety. Meanwhile there’s Anna working away in the shadows doing everything you could ask to make it possible for the stars to shine. She is the quintessential glue player. Trachsel is tough, physical and very skilled. Defensively, she is a force of nature with a dogged approach to the task at hand and the versatility to play whatever role is required of her. Like her older sister Kate, a 2021 graduate of both the Stars and Prior Lake, Anna plays bigger than her size, delivers with more intensity than most, and never stops working from beginning to end.
A FEW MORE TO WATCH
#55 Vanessa Jordan Vanessa Jordan 5'7" | CG Eden Prairie | 2025 State MN – guard, Eden Prairie
This summer Vanessa joins a talented and intriguing group of prospects on the Metro Stars 2025 squad that includes Top 50 prospects like Brooklynn Holmberg Brooklynn Holmberg 5'11" | SG Prior Lake | 2025 State MN , Brandi Washington Brandi Washington 5'5" | CG Fridley | 2025 State MN , Ella Kuhlman Ella Kuhlman 5'8" | PG North Branch | 2025 State MN and Stella Timmins Stella Timmins 5'11" | SG St. Anthony Village | 2025 State MN . The 5’7 guard will be a key piece in that star-studded ensemble. She’s smooth and athletic and skilled. She has nice court vision, moves the ball effectively, and possesses an elite first step that propels her to the basket with ease. Jordan is just scratching the surface of what’s possible.
#61 Gabrielle Fineday Gabrielle Fineday 5'8" | SG Cass Lake-Bena | 2025 State MN – guard, Cass Lake-Bena
When folks talk about high-quality guards at Cass Lake-Bena they usually talk about Taryn Frazer Taryn Frazer 5'4" | PG Cass Lake-Bena | 2022 State MN . How could you not? She has had an outstanding career. But the senior will soon move on and this will be Gabby’s show to run. Fineday is one of the best shooters we’ve seen this season, with as smooth a motion as you will see, and the ability to get it up and airborne quickly. The crafty guard is deceptively quick, strong for her size and plays the game with passion and poise.
#70 Rae Pearce Rae Pearce 6'0" | SG Orono | 2025 State MN – guard, Orono
Rae turned in a series of strong performances last fall to put herself in the thick of the rankings conversation. She didn’t quite make the grade the first time around but she’s there now. At 5’11 Pearce is long and lanky. Rae is a quality athlete who handles the ball well, can shoot lights out, and gets to the basket frequently. She has a ways to go on the defensive side of the ball but she is definitely trending in the right direction. We may need to be patient but Rae’s long-term prognosis is very good.
