Prep Girls Hoops held our Circuit Event known as The Exclusive last weekend in Aurora, Illinois at various venues.  This is the second article about the 14U age group covering various players that impressed, listed in no particular order.

Dymon Percell - 5’5" - Royal Spring ’26 - Overtime Performance ’26

Percell can regularly get into the lane through penetration from the top or wings.  She is particularly strong with her left hand when using the speed dribble down the sideline or to drive down the left side of the lane.

She scored on a free throw line jumper and made a great rebound of her own shot that she kicked out for a three-pointer.

She has to let go of that bad habit of showing visible disappointment for missed shots or missteps on the court before the College recruiters start watching.  Coaches don’t want to see you are upset with yourself.  They want to see you do something about it by turning a missed shot into a rebound, playing solid defense, or making a good play on the next possession.

Nobody expects you to be perfect and make every shot or never turn the ball over.

Madison Leschig - 5’5" - Milwaukee College Prep ’26 - Wisconsin Playground Elite ’26 National

Leschig does a great job of getting running upcourt to be available for the ball and converts lots of layups in the fastbreak in this way.  She appears to be very relaxed, calm, and steady on the court as if she cannot be pressured or hurried.  She is clearly alert based on her actions, if she weren’t she may appear disinterested.

Kourtnie Halperin - 5’0" - Edgewood ’27 - Full Package ’26

Halperin is a developing ballhawk and will need to become one if what she tells me about her expected size holds true.  She has a good court vision to find open teammates and be an asset to her team.  But a small player has a certain role for a team and so long as she develops as many of those skills as she can she can remain an important team member on the next level.

Emily Calub - 5’3" - Northwood ’28 - Full Package ’26

Defensive hustle and rebounding make Calub invaluable to her team.  Especially considering she is able to employ that hustle without fouling too much.

I thought she was a bit underskilled for a player about to enter high school.  But discovering she is only in 6th grade I now see it was just inexperience.  If she can elevate her skill set to match her motor she can be a very impactful player.

Sophie Romick - 5’6" - Glencoe Central ’27 - Full Package ’26

Romick is an asset as a shooter and her team runs a baseline out-of-bounds play to set her up for a wing three.  She can also put the ball on the floor for the short pull-up jumper

Grace Amptmann - 5’7" - Sycamore ’26 - M14 Hoops ’26 National 1

Amptmann made several layups in the game and finished through fouls on a curling drive from top left for a right-side layup and during many fastbreaks.  She made an up-the-street assist to a teammate from halfcourt and scored on a rebound putback.

Molly Finn - 5’6" - Martono ’26 - EBA Ice ’26

Finn is a budding stretch player.  She knocked down a few threes when I was watching from the top and deep wing.  She crashed the glass for a rebound putback and made a baseball-style skip pass from the left wing to the deep right wing for an open shot.

Delia Sullivan - 5’4" - Old St Mary’s - EBA Ice ’26

Sullivan converted a stolen inbound pass into a layup in a heady play.  She fed the post from the right corner for an assist and made a topside drive along the left side of the lane for a left-handed baby hook.
