Prep Girls Hoops Michigan recently updated it’s class of 2023 prospect rankings. Every update features some players that have seen their stock rise, sometimes resulting in them moving up the rankings. Let’s look at some players from the new rankings that could be called "stock risers".
[player_tooltip player_id="189278" first="Janae" last="Tyler"] (C, Holt)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #13
Tyler sent a huge message to her opponents and to college coaches looking for a high quality post player. When she’s a senior next high school season, she’ll be in a small group of the best post players in the state. Tyler has always been able to defend, but she’s really added to her offensive game.
[player_tooltip player_id="189288" first="Kennedy" last="Blair"] (SG, Divine Child)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #20
Blair was at times unstoppable this season. It seems like she was perfectly capable of putting up video game type numbers. She was perfectly comfortable putting the ball on the floor and creating as well as working off the ball for good looks at the rim.
[player_tooltip player_id="190706" first="Mary" last="Copple"] (PG, Brighton)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #22
Copple deserves to be talked about among the top shooters in the state, and even the top PLAYERS in the state. She might be the best pure 3 point shooter in Michigan next year. Copple slickly stalks the arc, seemingly always finding space to get her jumper up.
[player_tooltip player_id="230784" first="Elyssa" last="Kincaid"] (PF, Riverview)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #32
Kincaid saw her stock rise as much as anyone during high school season. If she plays like that during her senior season, she has a very viable argument to be a Miss Basketball finalist. Kincaid was a walking and talking triple-double.
[player_tooltip player_id="335988" first="Angelina" last="Tringali"] (SG, Oakland Christian)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #50
Tringali took her game to another level and her stock as a prospect rose in the process. She showed another level of scoring explosiveness and creativity with the ball. Tringali can bury a jumper, even with a defender closing out.
[player_tooltip player_id="256569" first="Kayla" last="Covington"] (PF, Ann Arbor Pioneeer)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #58
Covington just keeps improving and is definitely deserving of being considered a stock riser. This steady improvement speaks volumes to what could come next year and at the next level. Covington is slippery under the hoop and has a nose for the ball off the rim.
[player_tooltip player_id="362289" first="Sophie" last="Daugard"] (SF, Howell)
Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Ranking: #156
Daugard has shown a lot of upside as a prospect. She can shoot off the dribble and the catch, and always stays balanced and under control when putting up a jumper. Daugard does a lot of things well, including hitting open teammates with a pass, rebounding off the perimeter, and defending a ball handler.
