Anna Foley Anna Foley 6'3" | PF Andover | 2023 State NewE | Andover| 6’3’’ |PF
Foley’s postseason run in the D1 MIAA State Tournament was tremendous. She showed her versatility as a power forward each game, and even though Andover fell short of the Championship, Foley sparked a comeback by dominating the interior. You could expect Foley to drop a double-double every game and play sound defense. She runs the floor well, has good footwork on the block, and can beat you with her back to the basket or facing up. Foley proved that she is one of the region’s best ’23 bigs this winter.

Cate MacDonald Cate MacDonald 6'2" | PF New Hampton | 2023 State NewE | New Hampton | 6’2’’| PF
Speaking of the region’s best bigs, you cannot forget about MacDonald, who elevated her game to a new level mid-season. She turned into one of the more dominant two-way forces inside. Always known as an athletic rim protector, MacDonald increased her stock a lot by being a consistent scoring threat to go along with her defensive prowess. She was a walking double-double and was significant in New Hampton’s success this season.

Sheyenne Swain-Price Sheyenne Swain-Price 6'1" | PF Dexter Southfield | 2023 State NewE | Dexter-Southfield | 6’1’’| PF
What was impressive about Swain-Price’s season is that she was coming off an injury and still put up dominating numbers. She helped elevate Dexter-Southfield to the 8th seed in NEPSAC AA and proved to be unstoppable when she caught the ball low on the block. Her strength is unmatched, and the amount of fouls she draws is staggering. Swain-Price’s ability to consistently put pressure on the opposing interior defenders and get to the free-throw line at will makes her a top 5 player at the power forward spot.

Paloma Garcia Paloma Garcia 5'7" | CG Proctor Academy | 2023 State NewE | Proctor Academy| 5’7’’| CG
Garcia is one of the best two-way combo guards, and her upper body strength makes her versatile in defending both guard spots. She has the lateral quickness to stay in front of speedy guards and has quick hands to disrupt a players’ rhythm. Garcia is a good passer who sees the floor well and is tough to stop in transition because of her playmaking and finishing ability.

Norah Saluja Norah Saluja 5'10" | CG Choate Rosemary Hall | 2023 State NewE | Choate| 5’10’’| CG
I like Saluja because she is a dangerous three-level scorer but is multi-dimensional as a prospect, so if her shot isn’t falling, she can still impact team success. Saluja uses her size to rebound on both sides of the ball and has the versatility to defend multiple positions. Saluja had a big-time season for Choate as she led the team in scoring, was named a NEPSAC Class A All-Star, and helped her team clinch the #2 seed in her division.

Amelia Hanscom Amelia Hanscom 5'10" | SG Andover | 2023 State NewE | Andover | 5’11’’ | CG
Big guard Amelia Hanscom Amelia Hanscom 5'10" | SG Andover | 2023 State NewE did a little bit of everything for Andover. She was responsible for being the number 1 perimeter scoring option, the primary facilitator, and showed that she is one of the best rebounding guards. Hanscom uses her size and strength well and isn’t afraid to be physical around the basket. She stretches the floor with her shooting and is a good shot creator despite not being as quick or athletic as other players at her position. Hanscom’s change of speed, direction, and footwork helped her stymie defenders, and she had a monster season for Andover.
