I have been asked “has that ever happened” yes it has, not that many times however I remember the Cy Fair Texans, graduating class of 2005, the GREATEST class ever to come out of Houston no matter what you hear, pulled it off and I’m almost certain a couple of DFW Elite squads did the same thing but I have to focus after a very adventurous night so here you go
Rieyan DeSouze @rieyandesouze
DeSouze showed me she would be DeGreat at a very early age, here’s one from 2018 but when you are POISED at the POINT, can handle the ball under pressure, and see the floor, at a young age, things have a tendency to fall into place and it has as she has kept extending her range and sets the defender up nicely to score or dish off the dribble but as good as she is, her upside is scary because of her mindset
Amari Byles @AmariByles2026
Kamora Pruitt @KamoraPruitt
Pruitt is another player I had to get up and find out about but again, you can’t hide talent, so as players move on, I always love seeing them show that I was right, yes it’s about me but KP is just one of those players that I like to use “her roof has no ceiling” which if you can’t figure that out, stop reading because her multitude of ways to control a game, on either end is scary, for defenders, not me because I knew what was coming
Amayah Garcia @garcia_amayah
Garcia was one of the show-stealers at my #NextUp50 Camp I had in Houston a couple of years and I hadn’t seen enough of her yet with a fitting nickname of Sunshine, she immediately brightened up the court with an abundance of moves as well as a variety of ways to score had several asking “where is she from” and I said up 45N, still the hotbed for Texas yet I can’t wait to catch her, as well as her teammates in action which will probably be the Super 64
I guess it will come as no surprise that when I drop the 2026 Watchlist for Texas, they have 4 of the 15-20 spots, stay tuned and remember, I will always keep it real off the court as they are doing it on the court
