Avery Oder | Post/Forward | Tulsa Hawks 2026/Collinsville | 2026
One of the first things I noticed about Avery was how hard she played and how she ran the floor. In today’s game a lot of players will run the three-point line in transition, but Avery ran to the basket, made herself big and asked for the ball. When she got position on the block she always communicated with her teammates about where she wanted it by getting big and wide and showing a target hand. Avery displayed good footwork once she caught it. Her footwork allowed her to be on balance and play through contact. She could also work from the high post with the ability to attack the basket off the dribble.
Emma Zimmerman | Combo Guard | Tulsa Hawks 2026/Bartelsville | 2026
FUNDAMENTALS! You hear people talk about fundamentals all the time and how important it is to have them, but you don’t see them too often. Well, Emma was a breath of fresh air because fundamentally she was sound. With her fundamentals came an understanding of the game that a lot of other players in the 14U division didn’t have. The defense always had to keep an eye on her because she understood when to cut if the defense lost sight of her. She often found open spots in the defense to get open. When she had the ball she knew who to look for and what she was looking for. If teams played a zone she knew where her teammates were supposed to be, when they would cut, and anticipated them being open. This made her a dangerous player with her passing ability. When she wasn’t making plays for others she could handle the ball vs pressure, make spot-up threes, and finish in the lane.
Deandra Minor | Wing | BTR 2026 | 2027
There was a lot of talent in the gym over the weekend. But after watching Deandra play for about 5 minutes I knew she was one of the most skilled players in the gym in either of the 14U and 15U divisions. Then to find out she was in the class of 2027 I was really impressed. She has the total package. Deandra can shoot the three off the catch or off the dribble, she can break you down off the dribble, push it in transition, make plays for her teammates, and guard multiple positions. Remove the ceiling because the skies the limit for this young hooper. It’s going to be fun watching her develop through middle school and high school and see how her game comes together. Remember the name DEANDRA MINOR.
Aniston Jones | Point Guard | BTR 2026 | 2027
There is nothing better for me than to watch a true point guard run the show. Aniston possesses all the qualities and skills you want in a point guard that can run the team. She’s an extension of the coach. She kept her team organized, running, and operating with a good flow on offense. Her IQ is on point and she makes good decisions with the basketball. I really liked seeing her work the pick and roll. She did a good job of making the read and knew when to use it or reject the screen. When she attacked downhill she was crafty enough to finish in traffic with either hand. Aniston was also a good passer and respectable shooter.
Makiya Moore | Forward | BTR 2026 | 2026
Makiya is an athletic post player that can also play out on the perimeter. Her athleticism is really displayed on the defensive end and in transition. Makiya is a really good help defender that gets to her help spots early. Whenever there is penetration she rotates and provides the help needed to prevent the offense from scoring easy baskets. She can block or contest shots without fouling and secure the defensive rebound. She also plays the passing lanes well and uses her speed and quickness to get deflections and steals. She’s skilled enough on the offensive end to attack the basket in a straight line off the dribble, she can make the mid-range jumper, and she runs the floor well in transition for finishes at the rim.
