You could call them sleepers only because if you aren’t paying attention to the details, you’d miss the value they bring to their team. These are impact players that change the dynamic of a team and if you aren’t paying attention, you could miss out on the player that could change the course of your season.
Morgan Borgstadt Morgan Borgstadt 5'11" | SF Verdigris | 2023 State OK | 5-11 CG | Verdigris HS (Shock 2023)
Morgan has a presence that is hard to put into words, but you want it on your team. Her size at the point guard position makes her a force to be reckoned with. She is strong, has quick hands and is a bit intimidating defensively, but like I said, you want that in a player. She is fearless when attacking the basket and absorbs contact well when finishing. She has good shooting ability that has improved over the last year. Morgan has the frame and motor to make her a dynamic prospect at the college level. She already holds some offers and if she continues at this pace, there will be more coming her way.
Ava Scott Ava Scott 5'8" | CG Oktaha | 2024 State OK | 5-8 CG | Oktaha HS (Oklahoma Fusion 2024)
Ava is a tough guard that plays with high-energy and doesn’t stop until the job is done. Her on ball defense is suffocating due to her hands taking away the vision of the ball handler and getting deflections. She plays the passing lane well and her help-side rotations are solid. She has good ball handling ability and does a good job of slicing and dicing through the lane and finishing with both hands. Her shot stands out the most because she has great form and is disciplined to hold her follow through until it swishes in. I like Ava and look to catch more Oklahoma Fusion games this summer.
Jamiya Woodard Jamiya Woodard 5'9" | CG Tulsa Union | 2025 State OK | 5-9 CG | Tulsa Union HS (Id3ntity Elite 2025)
Jamiya is an unselfish player that prides herself in making the extra pass and getting her teammates involved. She is an athletic guard that has great court vision and will give you her best effort on every play. Jamiya has the potential to be a good defensive player due to her size and athleticism. I believe she will continue to grow this offseason.
Delaney Roller | 5-10 CG | Har-Ber HS (Oklahoma Swift 2024 Mathurin)
Delaney was the first player I noticed on Day 1 of Border Wars 2022. What really impressed me was her presence on defense. She did everything right from pressuring the ball with active hands and getting deflections, playing the passing lane, and constantly staying active in help. Delaney has winning-like tendencies, from being a ready shooter to being a positive and encouraging teammate. Did I mention she can shoot? Oh yeah Delaney is a sniper and can shoot with the best of them. I look forward to catching more Oklahoma Swift action this spring and seeing her growth this offseason.
Annaston Brown Annaston Brown 5'10" | SF Tahlequah Sequoyah | 2024 State OK | 5-9 SF | Tahlequah Sequoyah HS (Oklahoma Fusion 2024)
Annaston is a multipurpose player that as a coach will keep your attention. She works hard on the defensive end and plays the right way on offense. Annaston is not afraid to attack the basket and use her body. She has a strong build that allows her to absorb contact well and dominate on the glass when rebounding. What separates her is the way she shoots. When I say she can shoot it, she can shoot the basketball. Her ability to stretch the floor and use her size makes her a great asset to a team at the college level.
