G: Kathleen Coffey Kathleen Coffey 5'7" | PG Staples | 2024 State New E | Staples | 5’7” |’24
I thought Coffey played at a high level on both sides of the ball and was one of the quickest players at the event. When penetrating, her speed and explosion led to a handful of her baskets, and Coffey showed that she could be a reliable shooter from the outside. I liked how Coffey dug in defensively and made her opponent uncomfortable using her lateral quickness, length, and on-ball pressure.
G: Mikayla Mobley Mikayla Mobley 5'7" | PG Ethel Walker | 2022 New E | Ethel Walker| 5’6”| ’22
Mobley was a walking highlight reel all showcase long, displaying her flashy passing and dynamic playmaking every game. Her isolation package is deep, and Mobley showed numerous moves to create space between her and the defense. I thought her jab step was her most lethal. It opened up enough room for Mobley’s automatic pull-up jumper, and in general, her shooting off the bounce is a strength of hers.
F: Shayne Burton Shayne Burton 5'6" | CG Winchendon | 2023 State New E | Winchendon| 5’8”| ’23
Burton’s athleticism is off the charts. She can defend guards and wings effectively because of her ball-hawking and east to west speed. Burton read passes as well as anyone last Friday and consistently cut off angles of ball-handlers. I was impressed most by Burton’s movement off the ball. She makes hard timely cuts to the hoop and relocates to open areas ready to shoot at all times.
F: Kelly Holmgren| Greenwich Country Day | 5’11”| ’23
Holmgren’s versatility on defense turned heads as she showed the ability to defend guards and bigs. Her size is bothersome, and Holmgren slides her feet well, forcing ball handlers to pick up their dribble prematurely. Holmgren also was efficient shooting off the dribble. I liked her mid-range shot creation and confidence. Holmgren’s dribble pull-ups and catch and shoot ability increases her value as a two-way wing.
C: Adi Standish Adi Standish 6'2" | PF Avon | 2024 State New E | Avon| 6’1”| ’24
Standish was solid, protecting the rim and cleaning up the glass inside. Her offensive game was most impressive as she showed soft touch inside and consistently hit contested mid-range jumpers. Standish also recognized mismatches in the halfcourt and was comfortable facing up and taking her defender off the dribble. I liked how she asserted herself in the high and low post and took advantage of her size around the basket.
