Adison is a super talented guard who offers a complete perimeter skill-set. She has great range and can hit at will from beyond the arc. She has smooth handles and can create her own shot off the dribble. All weekend long this guard anticipated ball movement on defense and jumped passes for steals to take to the other end for an easy lay-in. She is a tough defender who is up for the challenge of guarding other talented perimeter players. Moore plays with great intensity and shows her competitive edge game in and game out.
Maya Nelson Maya Nelson 5'5" | CG Sioux Falls Christian | 2025 State SD – Sioux Falls Christian – 5’7″ – G/F
Maya Nelson Maya Nelson 5'5" | CG Sioux Falls Christian | 2025 State SD gets the award for being the greatest team player on the day. If you want a player who understands the importance of the “little things” and will do whatever it takes for her team to succeed here she is. She is a solid defender who plays with a level of toughness and smarts that leave you impressed. Help-side, in the gap, and on the ball she is equally as good and does a lot towards helping her team get stops. She runs the floor extremely well, hits open teammates with consistency, and knocks down open shots on the other end. This young lady has a really SOLID overall game and would find a way to help any basketball team.
Althea Gust Althea Gust 5'10" | SG Centerville | 2025 State SD – Centerville – 5’9″ – G/F
Gust is DEADLY from beyond the arc. She may be the most efficient 3-point shooter in her class, and arguably in the state. She made 62 threes during her high school season as a freshman and lights up defenses that give her any degree of space. Paired with her outside shooting ability is her ability to find creases to attack the defense. She has a great spin and half-spin counter move and she possesses one of the best step-throughs in the area. Her footwork is highly advanced and she is one of the more creative athletes in the paint showing off high IQ ways to create a shot. Some of the better passes with superb vision were showcased by this young lady as well. Gust’s defense is an underrated asset as she can defend positions 1-5 and does so with great energy and smarts. She is undoubtedly one of the most complete players in this class.
Emma Marshall Emma Marshall 5'10" | SF Centerville | 2025 State SD – Irene-Wakonda – 5’8″ – F
Marshall is a superb athlete who checks all of the physical attribute boxes. She’s long, athletic, has impressive hops, and plays the game with a high IQ and intensity to go with it. Her vertical is one of the most impressive you can find and this pays off for her as both a shot-blocker and a high-level rebounder. She is long and physical enough to defend the post, and athletic and savvy enough to guard the perimeter. As her 3-point shot develops more consistency look for this talented young lady to be one of the most complete players in this class.
Logan Smidt Logan Smidt 5'8" | PG Brookings | 2025 State SD – Brookings – 5’7″ – G
Logan is a STRONG guard player. All weekend long she willed her way to the rim knowing when she could use her physicality to get to the rack and I’m here to tell you that NOBODY stopped her all weekend. She may be the most physical perimeter player in this class and she has a rare combination of strength, aggressiveness, speed, and finesse skills. Knocking down the outside shot, taking the ball to the rack with strength, and finding her teammates with spot-on passes round out a complete offensive game for this athlete. She is a tough defender as well and answers the call on both ends.
Ryan Hanssen Ryan Hanssen 5'11" | SF Lennox | 2025 State SD – Lennox – 5’9″ – G/F
Hanssen is a prospect who has impressed me as much as anyone on the 2025 list in terms of improvement from last season. She is playing very physically on the rebounds and in the post. Grabbing offensive rebounds, hitting mid-range jumpers, and scoring around the rim are all improved areas of her game and have made her a big-time threat on the offensive end as well. She moves really well in transition and is developing into a very nice stretch 4 athlete in the half-court. Watch this young lady continue to slide up the top prospects board as she keeps getting better.
Brynn Vanbockern Brynn Vanbockern 5'6" | CG Harrisburg | 2025 State SD – Harrisburg – 5’6″ – G
Brynn has one of the smoothest outside shots in the class. She sets up well and can hit the three consistently off the kickout. An already stout deep game and a developing off-the-dribble skill-set make her an intriguing prospect. She moves well defensively and does a nice job guarding the perimeter as well. This whole class can move and she is another one who runs the floor efficiently and can play an up-tempo style.
Keira Austin Keira Austin 5'3" | PG Centerville | 2025 State SD – Centerville – 5’5″ – G
Austin is a true number 1 and has made improvements in the offensive areas of passing, attacking, and knocking down the outside shot. She has really good court vision and finds open teammates in transition and in the half-court offense. She pairs this high IQ play with a solid deep ball with a quick release. She is a scrappy defender who puts pressure on her opponent, keeps the ball in front, and uses her voice to benefit the whole group. Keira projects to be a nice point guard option with smooth handles and sound decision-making but also moves well enough and hits shots consistently enough to play anywhere on the perimeter.
