More coverage to follow this week on these and other players from the event.
First Team
Juliana Frazee – 6’2″/C – Franklin County – Richmond Heat
Best Center of the tournament. She had the most complete offensive game in the post, is a good distributor from the paint and even has the ability to step out and make the three. Defensively she plays tough without fouling much and has great stamina. She was rim running on every offensive trip and always back on defense.
Amyannah Tucker – /PG – Troy – Dayton Vipers Elite
The best all-around Guard of the tournament. Does not have blazing speed but makes up for it with basketball IQ, crafty ball handling and game savvy. She can set herself up to score and makes her teammates better by getting them the ball where they can convert it into points.
Elaura Cox – 5’6″/PG – Oakland – EAB Tennessee
A quick footed defensive specialist with tons of offensive skills. She turns defense into offense frequently and does a great job of running the show in the halfcourt. Can get into the lane almost at will with a quick 1st step followed be several quicker steps.
Cameryn Ridderikhoff – 5’9″/SF – Franklin County – Richmond Heat
Best Shooter and Stretch Player. It got to the point where I felt like all of her threes were going to drop if she got an open look. She also had great handles and passing skills in feeding the post, finding open cutters off the bounce and making crisp passes around the perimeter. A Point Forward type that could develop into a Guard.
Brooke Haywood – 5’8″/PF – Chaminade Julienne – Dayton Vipers Elite
Best finisher. She made buckets from multiple angles, through contact, on the move, fading away, floating towards the rim. When a player makes a couple shots like this you might assume luck. When you see her make them all game in multiple game you know she has a knack to put the ball in the hole.
Second Team
Peyton White – 5’11″/C – Gainesville Middle – SVM Select Rams
Best Rim Protector. Blocked multiple shots.
Mekera Standridge – 5’3″/CG – Dacula – Team DBA
Very hard to contain with multiple scoring techniques.
Jay Minniefield – 5’4″/PG – Hueytown – Alabama Twisters Elite
Great Point Guard fundamentals. High Basketball IQ. Makes teammates better.
Sariyah Chester – 5’9″/SF – Pelham – One Step Away
Best All-Around Player that can do a little of everything well. Shooter.
Madison Sheppard – 5’8″/PF – Veterans – One Step Away
Best Post Defender with a high motor and fundamental skills.
Third Team
Mariyah Valrie – 6’0″/C – Moutain View – Team DBA
Nataya Strader – 5’5″/PG – Madison Central – Richmond Heat
Mearah Whitehead – /SG – Archer – Team DBA
Kennedy Hayes – 5’2″/SF – Westwood – One Step Away
Koral Colosimo – 5’10″/PF – Hoover – Alabama Twisters Elite
