Continue ReadingI saw a bunch yet there were a number of younger teams I didn’t get a chance to catch but I love catching new faces as well as seeing the progression from those I have already seen, both of the Mavs Elite players are in the 7th grade yet played up in another division but guess what, this is a talented group of players with very bright futures, same can be said for the guard list I’m dropping later on THE BABIES
Juliana Davenport (PWP 2027) OK
Davenport has the frame and is showing signs of controlling games because she understands the simple things, like positioning to get rebounds, she does that on both ends, but she also did a good job finishing around the basket. Her running the floor was also a good sign but what really did it for me was her timing, she’s under control and did a good job making the offensive player think about challenging the basket
Maddie Vickery (SSA Gameball 2026) KS
Vickery rhymes with victory as she’s definitely on the right path. Let me start with that “long and athletic” profile I speak about so often and I just got a kick about her demeanor on the court. Yeah, she can attack from the wing as well as drop the pull-up jumper with ease but seeing her not only rebound but playing the passing lane had me smiling
Jalia Mitchell (AOH 2027) TX
Mitchell is long and almost ultra-athletic and with her wingspan, I foresee her creating a variety of problems in the future. She has good timing, she goes after the ball off the rim and she did a good job defending not only in the paint but her lateral movement outside of it was solid. She finished and her upside is somewhat scary
Kamryn Soukup (AOH 2027) TX
Soukup is also “long and athletic” and watching her understand how to not only create her shot at this stage was nice but so was her attacking the basket using a deceptive first step. She gets her shot off with ease, nice release, yet she doesn’t force anything which is a very good sign
Trista Doss (Arkansas Flight Elite 2026) AR
Doss just goes hard, one of those “never takes a play off” type of player that has me dropping the #THROWBACK hashtag. She BATTLES for everything off the rim, and dives on the floor for loose balls, at this stage that is huge but her defense was somewhat smothering at times. oh yeah, she finished strongly
Maccie Bain (GOC 2026) OK
Bain showed me I wasn’t seeing a mirage the last time I caught her as her ” hands and footwork” as well as scoring with either hand around the basket continues to stand out, yet she can step out and drop the jumper. She rebounds, on both ends and even got the break going with the outlet
Miciah Fusilier (Mavs Elite) AR
Fusilier has me thinking “all bets are off” as she’s only in the 7th grade, stands above the magic number, that’s 6’0, yet the magic she showed me last season is even more magical as she’s long and athletic, attacks with either hand and uses great body control to finish yet her mid to long-range jumper has me saying #BCSLock right now, trust me
Carolina Bradley (Mavs Elite) AR
Bradley just overpowers defenders, she is also a 7th grader and already has that “college-ready body” yet her finishing with players literally hanging on her, keep and mind she and Fusilier were playing in an even higher division, that all sets the stage for what’s coming and it’s going to be something to see
