I will also be posting top players from Sunday, the 16U and 15U all-tournament teams, along with a Young Guns story in a few days.
Maddy King, 2024, Overtime Performance 2024
I loved this fiery point guard as she showed a lot of grit and heart when she was on the court today. She did a great job penetrating to the rim, she is a hard-nosed player who either took to the rim or dished it out for the better shot. She is a shifty guard with a good knack of the one court, throws a great outlet pass and can push the tempo. Handles the ball well with both hands and made plays for her team.
Alexa Langager, 2025, 5 Star 2025
Alexa (pictured left) showed an ability to slash through the defense and score in the paint. She showcased good leadership skills and did not give up on the play. Good hustler on the court, she created chances for her team. Has a good quick shot with excellent range, and showcased a good basketball IQ.
Megan Allen, 2025, Fusion Basketball Academy Moore
One of two players on this team who caught my attention with their play, you will read about the other one later. Megan did a good job sealing her opponent in the paint, allowing her back down and score at the rim. She has a soft touch in the paint and is a good rebounder. Boxes out well and is aggressive to the ball.
Ava Highman Ava Highman 5'5" | PG Regis | 2024 WI , 2024, Team Wisconsin 2024 Select Noll
She is not a Victory Region player, but she really impressed me today with the way she handles the point guard spot. Distributed the ball well and she is a strong physical guard who moves well without the ball. Solid three-point threat and not afraid on contact. (pictured left)
Kate Trella, 2024, Full Package Neon
She plays the wing very well, and with her size, she also can handle the ball and play a guard spot. A good catch-and-shoot player with a good perimeter shot. Active to the ball, plays poised and is a good passer with solid handles. Very good court vision and can drop the pass download through the defense.
Olivia Patton Olivia Patton 6'0" | PF Normal Community West | 2024 IL , 2024, Fusion Basketball Academy Clifton
Strong physical player with a presence in the paint that is tough to stop. She can get into position well and call for the ball, using her size to score. Good catch-and-shoot player around the rim and can play through contact. Will knock down free throws if you send her to the line. (feature photo above)
Amelia Fernandez, 2026, Full Package 2026 Black
Excellent handles and a good on-ball defender. Quick and her active hands create turnovers for her team. Can score from the midrange well with a good floater, also can score from the perimeter.
Madison Morson Madison Morson 5'8" | SG Plymouth Salem | 2024 State MI , 2024, Michigan Playmakers
Super athletic player with very good speed and quickness to the rim. Can explode past her defender and uses her athleticism to cause havoc blocking shots and defending. Good midrange shot and good reaction. (pictured left)
