-Madison Cartwright-5’11” Junior Forward, Greenwood-Madison led her team to the State Championship last season. There’s a good reason that she’ll do it again next year. She’s the floor leader for the Bulldogs. Madison is a physical power forward that is most effective when facing the basket. She can shoot and rebound. Her strength is second opportunity scoring. Giving her team additional chances to score. She has excellent footwork and has the size to play at the next level.
-Jasmine Davis-5’9” Junior Guard, Little Rock Parkview-As a swing guard, Jasmine can hit the three but prefers to penetrate the lane and score or get to the free-throw line. Her quickness allows her to finish or dish off after the double-team. Look for the Pirates to go deeper in the playoffs this coming season.
- Kayden Porter Kayden Porter 5'10" | SF Sheridan | 2024 State AR -5’9” Sophomore Guard, Sheridan-Kayden led her team in most offensive categories last season and will do so again in the 2022-23 season for the Yellowjackets. Her predominant position is at the point but can play the swing guard spot as well. With a little help from her teammates, Sheridan can make another playoff appearance and possibly advance to additional rounds.
-Carly Sexton-5’6” Sophomore Guard, Greenwood-During the second half of the season Carly just tore it up with her play. Her maturity level elevated and she was playing like a fifth-year senior. Her leadership, confidence, and talent got my attention. She was probably the best player for the Bulldogs during their State Championship run. Look for Carly to lead Greenwood back to the state tournament next year.
- Amelia Rogers Amelia Rogers 5'7" | PG Lakeside | 2024 State AR -5’7” Point Guard, Hot Springs Lakeside-Amelia did an outstanding job at point guard this past season. Her basketball IQ allows her to navigate the entire court and find the open player. She’s efficient with the basketball and has excellent peripheral vision. Look for Amelia to score more next season. If she does, the Rams will have another successful campaign.
-Jordan Gregory-5’9” Junior Guard, Little Rock Parkview-Jordan complements her teammate Jasmine Davis as a difficult duo match-up on the perimeter. This one-two punch will be very tough to stop next season. Jordan lives at the free-throw line. She can also hit the three-ball with regularity.
T- Taleigha Ealy Taleigha Ealy 6'0" | C Russellville | 2024 State AR -6’0” Sophomore Post, Russellville-Taleigha can be a rebounding machine. When she plays with energy, she can control the boards. She is a proficient shot blocker as well. If she gets stronger playing summer ball, there’s no limit on her capability to propel her team to a deep playoff run.
T-Shyisha Willis-5’9” Swing Guard, Russellville-What impressed me most about Shyisha’s play was her maturity. As a sophomore, she had no problem mixing it up inside with the bigs. She is very physical and goes after all the 50/50 ball. Look for her leadership role to expand and lead the Cyclones to another playoff appearance.
-Loren Nelson-6’0” Junior Post, El Dorado-Loren is an excellent post-up player. She positions herself on either side of the lane with an excellent catch-and-shoot motion. She can score with frequency on her strong side. With some development this summer on her weak side, she will be indefensible. Look for Loren to lead El Dorado to a playoff appearance next season.
- Anna Trusty Anna Trusty 6'0" | CG Greenwood | 2024 State AR -6’0” Sophomore Post, Greenwood-Anna played a big part in Greenwood’s Championship run. Her role will be bigger in the upcoming season. She is versatile in that Anna can play facing the basket. She can hit the three-ball, but most effectively inside the ten-foot range. She is a mis match for most opponents. If she can get stronger, there’s no limit to her success on the court.
T-Brooklynn Braughton and Emma Hughes, 5’5” Guards, Lake Hamilton-This tandem guard set came off of the bench last season and provided instant energy for their team. Both are very scrappy and created many turnovers that turned into points on the other end. Look for this duo to get more minutes next season and lead their team to another deep playoff run.
