Adidas 3SSB: New England Talent

The talent was from coast-to-coast last weekend in Spartanburg, SC for the Adidas 3SSB Live Period. Let’s take a look at some players from the New England area who really caught our attention from Prep Girls Hoops this past weekend. <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-436298" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/6998CC7E-6328-4907-8388-5DCDF109FAA7.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> <strong>Shyla Montgomery (2022) - Boston Showstoppers - Kimball Union Academy (Plainfield, NH)</strong> Montgomery is still AVAILABLE which is baffling to me right now. She just finished a postgraduate year at KUA. Shyla played at Lawrence Academy (Groton, MA) prior. Shyla is the ultimate team player with her ability to share the ball, defend on the ball, communicate with her teammates and just bring constant hustle at all times. She is very active in the passing lanes and won’t even blink for a second when it comes to diving on the floor. It’s a given she will with her great work ethic. <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-436302" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/2EED9203-CED9-4F27-BCF6-A27B671388FE.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="267052" first="Oluchi" last="Okananwa"] (2023) - Lady Rivals 3SSB 2023 - Worcester Academy (Worchester, MA) </strong> Oluchi put together one of the best showings I saw all weekend long here at the Adidas 3SSB Live Period. The game comes easy to her at times with her smooth style of playing and efficiency on both ends of the floor. She finished at the rim with both hands when she was not knocking down perimeter jumpers. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="267455" first="Mia" last="Mancini"] (2023) - Lady Rivals 3SSB 2023 - New Hampton (New Hampton, NH) (pictured on front)</strong> Mancini was dropping dimes all weekend long for her squad. Mia is a pass first point guard who can really get the ball downhill to the cup. She fights off contact with her ability to get to the rack. Mia is a GAMER and a tough kid on the floor. She will for sure make a college program very happy down the road. <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-436299" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/130C5DDE-2573-43B1-B935-ACF48E7A147B.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="263970" first="Tayla" last="Barros"] (2023) - Boston Showstoppers - Cathedral HS (Boston, MA) </strong> Tayla has a sweet stroke from the perimeter with a nice quick shot release. Barros shows good body control while attacking the basket and plays the game extremely unselfish. Elizabeth finished at the rim and really showed good fundamentals with her game. Ndeye shows good versatility on the floor with her ability to play inside-out at times. She was playing up an age group with the Gauchos 2024 squad. Sydney is playing up a few age groups here today. Sydney showed good poise and decision-making skills today.
