Kaycee McCumber- AAO Flight 2025
The way McCumber defends in space with her size and age is incredible. Last week she made loads of athletic plays; blocking shots, running the floor, making catches and traffic, and finishing in weird spots on the offensive end. In the last two weekends’ events, I’ve been very impressed with how she finds different ways to succeed without necessarily being a big-time scorer.
Marin Adams- AAO Flight 2025
This guard, in particular, is one of the most intriguing guards I’ve come across. Adams is a 5-foot-10 rangy guard who uses her size well. She organized her offense incredibly well and made shots from all over the place on Friday. The 2025 guard took jumpers from well beyond the 3-point line. Admas let everyone go with confidence and made most of her shots. I’ll be curious to see how she develops as a lead guard, but so far, so good.
Addalyn Rooney-Omaha Supreme 2025 Wharton
In all honesty, I haven’t seen many, if any, 2025 play as mature as Rooney played on Friday. Whenever she got the ball, I didn’t think or expect something good was on its way. I knew something good was imminent. She made the right decision with the ball every time and made a ton of 3s to boot. Her on-ball defense was also disruptive and created a few turnovers by pressuring her assignment. Rooney is one to keep an eye on going forward. She was nothing short of outstanding.
Mallory Hansen-Omaha Supreme 2025 Wharton
Hansen didn’t score the ball well yesterday, but she made winning plays every time down the floor. The guard was strong with the ball and didn’t turn the ball over, took good shots, passed up good looks herself for great looks from teammates, and down the stretch, she was a release valve when the press came. I imagine she’s played on winning teams since she picked up a basketball.
Olivia Peterson Olivia Peterson 5'6" | SG Appleton West | 2023 State WI -Let it Rain 2023
The Appleton native has played well all Circuit long. As a lead guard, she thrives when she gets to attack defenses off the dribble. Last night, she showed her ability to create angles around the basket that don’t make sense. Peterson isn’t a kid who makes many mistakes with the ball and will help an offense run as smoothly as possible. Coaches can trust her with the ball for the entirety of a game.
Paige Lambe Paige Lambe 6'2" | PF Verona | 2023 State WI -Let it Rain 2023
The 6-foot-2 forward has shown her scoring variety within 10-feet of the basket. However, I like how she’s been trying to expand her game out to the 3-point line. She’s not someone who’s content with who she is right now. She’s a scholarship-level player without adding her game, so the fact that speaks to who she is as a player and person. Wherever basketball takes Lambe, that school will get a kid who strives to be the best player she can become.
