It is hard not to acknowledge that coach Garrard has the best shooter in the district. Alli Stone can legit shoot it from the logo. She has endless range from long distance and makes a high percentage of her three-point attempts. She has very good offensive mechanics and displays a beautiful shooting stroke. Stone can be a playmaker as well using her excellent ball-handling skills to penetrate the defense to either find her shot in the lane or dish it to an open teammate for the assist. She works hard on the defensive end and applies immense pressure on the ball making her opponent frustrated all game. Stone is an exceptional rebounder for size and she plays the ball well off the rim knowing how to be in the right position when crashing the boards. Stone is a rising star you can look forward to her being a leading scorer in the 11th region this season.
Sophia Richardson-Sayre-PG/G-5’6″
If you’re like me and you enjoy watching players that leave it all on the floor when they play. Then you have to check out this Hooper entering her senior year at the Sayre School. Sophia Richardson is an ultimate competitor who plays with the passion and intensity that you look for in an athlete. She is a high-level scorer who can fill it up on any given night with her marksman-like shooting ability. She has deep range and doesn’t mind taking and making tough shots. Richardson moves well without the ball giving her opportunities to come off screens and pull up without hesitation. She attacks the rim with aggressiveness and knows how to absorb contact while finishing at the rim. I expect coach Bellairs to lean heavy on Richardson to be the first scoring option on offense this season.
Jailenn Green-Bryan Station-CG-5’8″
There will be a lot of hype surrounding this lefty combo guard once the regular season starts for Bryan Station. Jailenn Green is a young phenom she has that exciting style of play that makes her fun to watch. She is a lethal scorer with great spot up shooting ability. Green has outstanding quickness and athleticism which makes it easy for her to get to the basket. She is a tenacious on ball defender who causes turnovers for the team, her full court man to man defense will be very useful in pressing situations for the lady defenders. Green will make an immediate impact for coach Sandusky this season.
Carley Craig Carley Craig 5'8" | SG Frederick Douglass | 2024 State KY -Frederick Douglass-SG-5’8″
The Lady Broncos are loaded with talent this season and have multiple prospects on the roster. But Carley Craig Carley Craig 5'8" | SG Frederick Douglass | 2024 State KY will find a way to produce for her team no matter what. She is a solid all around player, she drives hard to the basket and finishes strong at the rim with both hands. Her perimeter shooting is consistent and she mostly takes good shots from the field. She is a decent interior scorer that has a variety of different post moves she can choose from. Craig has a unique play style with a good basketball IQ she makes smart decisions with the ball and does not turn it over very often. I anticipate Craig to make her presence known in the 42nd district this season.
Allison & Megan Mosby-Scott County-G/PG
The Mosby sister’s will be household names by the end of their careers at Scott County. Allison provides that spark of energy her teams needs when she enters the game. She is extremely fast with the basketball and can lead the fast break off a missed shot. Megan has similar speed and plays really good perimeter defense. They both have nice touch from long distance and consistently make open shots. The Lady Cardinals have a really talented roster but I expect the Mosby’s to produce for the team in their perspective roles this season.
