I love using "long and athletic" for a reason, it is definitely a profile I use to evaluate players, more importantly, so do many college coaches and they are the ones who offer players a chance to play at the next level. Those chances get higher when the intangibles are added, you know, what separates players A through ZZZ yet being close to, at, or over "The Magic Number" which is 6’0, also helps so just looking at motes and pictures, here are some players that I haven’t mentioned
[player_tooltip player_id="339138" first="Ella" last="Kadlec"]-6’1 PF (Century HS) Air Minnesota 2023
Kadlec adds timing as one of her intangibles because she showed she could make her presence felt when the offensive player attacked the rim. She makes them think about putting up the shot, often causing their changing of a shot yet she blocked, altered, and deflected as well as scored around the basket
[player_tooltip player_id="318880" first="Autumn" last="Rivera"]-5’11 SG (Summit HS) BC Denver 2023
Rivera had several intangibles starting with she understood how to create her shot and knock it down but she also used that same creativity to set the defender up and attack the basket, yeah she finished after contact but she also did a good job rebounding on both ends of the court
[player_tooltip player_id="206580" first="Taylor" last="Jacobson"]-5’9 CG (Monroe HS) Let It Rain 2023 Black
Jacobson plays both the 1 and the 2 yet she also knocks down the 3 as well as many of her teammates and opening night, the "Let It Rain" definitely fit as shots were dropping from everywhere yet other than shooting and understanding how to control the tempo, she also defended well
[player_tooltip player_id="255532" first="Kylie" last="Scott"]-6’2 PF (Carl Junction HS) Missouri Legacy 2024
Scott is definitely on to something because not only do college coaches profile long and athletic, but they also love players over the magic number that can drop the jumper and her pull-up, both in the set as well as in transition caught my eye as I was passing courts but with her upside, she’s definitely got plenty going for her
Rhya Cano-5’11 PF (Fort Collins HS) State 38 Black 2023
Cano fills in many blanks for her squad, first of all, she plays within herself yet she also understands how to get hers "in the flow" which basically means she doesn’t force anything yet she can score in the blink of an eye yet don’t blink because she can apply heat on the defensive end as well as rebound on both ends of the court
Paula Strzelecki-5’11 C (Huntley HS) A2ZOE Basketball Elite 2023 [2025]
Strzelecki did a good job attacking the basket from multiple angles and yes, she finished after the lick many times yet she also showed she could score around the basket as well as face the basket for the short jumper. Her timing was pretty good, blocked and deflected some shots and she also rebounded
Miracle Brown-5’9 SF (Heights HS) Kansas Bluejays 2023 [2025]
Brown made me "Feel Good" as she did what I love to see and that is "play the passing lane" but her instincts are really nice, that coupled with her being a freshman tells me a lot and so does her defense, both in transition as well as in the halfcourt. Nice upside as she has that #DESIRE
