The<strong> PGH Music City Showdown</strong> took place at the TOA Sports Performance complex in Knoxville TN on Saturday/Sunday. This tournament is part of the <strong>Triumph Region</strong> which encompasses the Southeast as one of four regions in the <strong>PGH Circuit</strong>. The weekend featured a ton of talent in the 17U division. Here is who was selected by our scouts as the 17U First Team All-Tournament:
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422113 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1090-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="218611" first="Emaya" last="Lewis"] - </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Team Huncho Nxt Gen - 2024</span></span>
Emaya was one of the most skilled players at the Showdown, and she does it at 6’4 with a lot of length. The Sophomore runs the floor well, can hit the mid-range jumper, and is smooth as silk inside. She plays up a class, but still continues to shine as one of the best players regardless of age. Her D1 offer list will only continue to grow in the next two years with her shot blocking ability, too.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422120 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1126-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="188327" first="Ayana" last="Boyd"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- Bounce Nation FBC - 2023</span></span>
This lefty is about as smooth and as tough as they come. She’s shifty, can score it from anywhere, and is really creative when driving to the basket to create or finish. When she isn’t making plays on the offensive end, she’s causing turnovers on defense with her active hands, jumping the passing lanes, and showing a lot of energy and intensity on the ball.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422119 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1107-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="245352" first="Imari" last="Berry"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- Tennessee Sol - 2024</span></span>
Imari is just different. She can just take over the game like only few can do at that level against high level competition. She’s listed at 5’10, but she plays so much bigger with her wingspan and her ability to elevate for a bucket or to block a shot. Imari can handle it, shoot it, and finish at the basket with the best. This Sophomore is a bonafide Power 5 hooper.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422822 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1241-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="385123" first="Destinee" last="Barnes"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- ABC Lightning Performance - 2023</span></span>
Destinee is a strong guard that made some tough finishes at the rim. She’s a matchup nightmare as she’s a threat to score from everywhere, but will also lock you up on the other end. She is a complete player who can elevate with the best of them. Inside, she finishes with both hands, but she can also hit it from deep as one of the most versatile players in Knoxville this weekend.
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><img class=" wp-image-422112 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/IMG_1089-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="190" height="190" />[player_tooltip player_id="196117" first="Erin" last="Rodgers"] </strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">- Team Huncho Nxt Gen - 2024</span></span>
Speaking of versatility, Erin fits that mold as a big guard who can put up points in a hurry from all three levels. She has good size and length with a smooth stroke from 15-feet and out. Erin attacks the glass with her frame that is already college ready. She’s going to be a really solid player at the next level with two more years left to develop.
