Alina Abdulina Alina Abdulina SG Hoosac | 2023 NY | Albany Capitals | 5’11’’| SF| ’23
Abdulina’s game is refreshing because she consistently utilizes the mid-range to her advantage. Her jump shot from 10-15 ft. is automatic and displayed the craftiness to get to her spots consistently. My biggest takeaway from watching Abdulina play last weekend was how comfortable she is igniting the break and pushing the ball up the floor. She is an excellent rebounder and can get out in the open court and be a playmaker in transition.
Lily Czub Lily Czub 5'8" | CG Hoosac | 2024 NY | Albany Capitals| 5’7’’| CG| ’24
When you look at Czub next to other players at her position, you notice she has a physical advantage. She is a strong guard with the upper body strength to defend bigger wings. Czub also is a proficient outside shooter who stretched the floor throughout the camp. Based on what I saw, Czub can become a dynamic “three and D”off guard capable of defending the 1-3.
Heaven Morris Heaven Morris 5'9" | SG Springfield Central | 2023 State NewE | Springfield Ballers| 5’9’’| SG| ’23
Morris was one of the most elite athletes at the camp. She is a blur when she is speed dribbling down the court and is under control, changing direction and weaving through defenders. Morris’ defense was excellent also. Her defensive reads and aggressive closeouts led to interceptions, deflections, and emphatic rejections.
Jordis Tautalatasi Jordis Tautalatasi 5'2" | PG Springfield Central | 2023 State NewE | Springfield Ballers| 5’4’’| PG| ’23
Tautalatasi was dialed in on defense, which made whoever she guarded uncomfortable all day long. The pressure she applied to the ball handler was suffocating, and Tautalatasi gave no breathing room when in her stance. The number of times her opponent prematurely picked up their dribble and made a rushed decision was countless. Tautalatasi also has great pickpocketing timing and forced many turnovers by poking the ball free.
Grace Corelli Grace Corelli 5'8" | PG Bynum Hills | 2024 NY | Lightning| 5’8’’| PG| ’24
I liked Corelli’s patience on offense and how she never allowed the defense to speed her up. Corelli could get by the initial defender and carve into the second level using a mix of hesitation moves and head fakes. I thought Corelli was one of the best help defenders and showed her high defensive IQ. She was never glued to her assignment; Corelli always was in the proper position on the weak side and made some impactful digs in the post, disrupting the opposition’s rhythm.
Lauren Thompson Lauren Thompson 5'6" | CG Sacred Heart Academy, Hamden, CT | 2024 State NewE | CBC| 5’6’’|CG| ’24
Thompson was one of the toughest competitors that I saw on Saturday. Every possession, she battled, played hard, and gave max effort. Thompson also showed her range and efficiency from the field. From mid-long range, Thompson displayed the ability to stretch the floor consistently. She understands how to space the floor, relocate and always looks like a threat to shoot.
Taylor Brown| Philly Rise| 5’6’’| PG| ’27
Brown is in middle school but did not play like it at the Super 64 Camp. During the ball-handling drills, she got my attention. She was clearly comfortable and confident with the ball in her hands as she kept it on a string while going full speed in the drills. Brown’s aggressive on-ball defense separated her from most of the prospects. At her age, to have the lateral speed to stay in front of bigger and older guards was jaw-dropping, and I loved how hard she competed on that side of the floor.
Gianna Chuffo Gianna Chuffo 5'6" | PG St Thomas Aquinas | 2025 NY | Exodus| 5’5’’|PG| ’25
I liked the way Chuffo commanded the floor and set the table for her teammates on offense. She had a quick first step and was explosive getting to the rim. Chuffo saw the floor well and located shooters spotting up when she drew the defense. I also liked Chuffo’s scrappiness and chippiness on defense. She was outworking her opponent and refused to let them get anything easy on offense.
Jessica Roy Jessica Roy 5'5" | PG Loomis Chaffee | 2024 State NewE |CT Starters| 5’6’’| PG| ’24
Roy continues to impress me this spring, and I thought she was very effective in playing downhill. Roy had the defense off-balance whenever she attacked and was also stealthy in pursuit of the basket. Between Roy’s prolific outside shooting mixed with her penetration ability, she has the complete offensive arsenal to defeat her matchup in a variety of ways.
Alexa Davis Alexa Davis 5'8" | SF Springfield International Charter | 2024 State NewE | 5’8’’| SF|’24
Davis is undersized but has the strength to dominate matchups inside. Davis took advantage and repeatedly scored on the block whenever a guard was on her. She has a soft finishing touch and can also take her defender off the dribble and get to the basket. Davis plays through contact and absorbs it while powering past the opponent.
