Peach Games Day 2: 17U Frontcourt Standouts Pt. 2
2025 6-0 W [player_tooltip player_id="302977" first="London" last="Weaver"] – North GA Magic – North Forsyth
The bright young lefty holds a high regard for her three-point shot, but on Saturday it was her playmaking that really impressed me. Weaver did a nice job putting the ball on the floor and sucking in the defense before kicking out to open shooters. London is steadily finding her assertiveness on offense and has bright future ahead. She can do a little bit of everything, as proven by her 7 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block against Team Nite Nite.
2024 6-0 C [player_tooltip player_id="425847" first="Amaya" last="Broadus"] – Team Nite Nite – Therrell
[player_tooltip player_id="425847" first="Amaya" last="Broadus"] could be a name for colleges to quietly track over the next two seasons. She’s a strong post presence with a sturdy build and quality mobility. She’s a rugged rebounder and a double-double machine during the high school season. Broadus gets on the offensive glass and converts putbacks. Amaya has the physical tools to develop into a nice prospect.
2024 5-11 F [player_tooltip player_id="425845" first="Nadea" last="Smith"] – FBC Hoopstarz – Union Grove
A.k.a Tavisty Smith, Nadea was mightily impressive in a win against the Atlanta Cagers. Smith has a strong build and workhorse mentality. She’s active in the paint, battling for every rebound. Smith is a quick leaper, able to clean up misses and finish through contact. She can score with her back to the basket, drop stepping and scoring with short turnarounds. I like the size, athleticism and mindset of [player_tooltip player_id="425845" first="Nadea" last="Smith"].
2023 5-9 W [player_tooltip player_id="425843" first="Ayanna" last="Blanco"] – Atlanga Cagers BlueChip – River Ridge
YaYa is an X-Factor. When she plays well, she can bring whichever team she is on to a whole other level. She’s an athletic high motor wing that flies around on both ends of the floor. Some games it will be her defense that stands out while others it is her offense. Blanco hits the outside shot and can get to the rim with a quick first step. She found herself with her back to the basket and made a nice post move, scoring with a scoop under the defender’s arm on Saturday morning. Finding consistency will be key for Blanco. She has a chance to be a late bloomer that draws the attention of colleges with how hard she plays and her long-term upside.
2024 6-0 C [player_tooltip player_id="425846" first="Ashlyn" last="Henderson"] – DL Impact – Lakeview Academy
Henderson caught my eye. She is every bit of 6-foot tall, maybe even bigger. She’s got a great frame with wide shoulder and strength throughout. Ashlyn does a good job getting on the boards and high pointing rebounds, collecting caroms and keeping the ball up when finishing. Henderson also does a nice job walling up and altering shots without fouling. She had 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks in a 48-42 win.
