As each day progressed players were identified as top performers for their teams in games. I joined other scouts to cover day 1. Below is a list of the opening day’s 15U top performers with some brief notes. All are 2025s
Lucy Aanestad, 5’6″, PG, Bettendorf (IA), Iowa Prep 2025 Red. – After struggling to open her first game of the event Aanestad got on track in the second half. She showed solid shooting, quickness on both ends of the floor, and a capable defender.
Marin Adams, 5’10″, F, Farmington (AR), AAO Flight 2025 – Adams solidly put points on the board but what really liked was her ability to finish with contact.
Gabby McBurnett, 5’10″, Farmington (AR), AAO Flight 2025 – My colleague Brady Peterson reported via twitter that McBurnett “… has seemingly played every spot on the floor. I’ve really liked her versatility in the P&R by being either the screener or ball handler.”
Kaycee McCumber, 6’0″, Farmington (AR), AAO Flight 2025 – My colleague Brady Peterson also reported via twitter that McCumber “…has a ton of defensive versatility. She’s been assigned to defend guards and has been outstanding doing so thus far for.”
Saniyah Morrison, 5’3″, PG, Will Rogers (OK), Rebel Elite 2025 – Morrison has a great deal of bounce in her step and is quick with the ball. Translation, slick handles to create opportunities to get downhill and to hit a screen flasher.
Hannah Yates, 5’6″, SG, Webster County (KY), Team Blackheart 2025 – Yates competed and shot well. A top shooter on the day, she was especially was found canning threes on from the wing. Her solid motor drove her to be a presence on both ends of the floor.
