Sydney Baird, OV Lady Dragons 2023 Black
Got to see Sydney play again this week, and she continued with what I saw a couple of weeks ago. She made my all-tournament team with her solid all-around game, with equally strong offensive and defensive game. She has a good perimeter game and is a threat from behind the arc. Can move well to the ball, and create opportunities for her team. Good euro move and able to show her crafty skills to score in multiple ways.
Mattie Clanton, Team Firstep 2023
The very first thing I saw from her that I loved was her defense…. very solid on-ball defense! So often the scorers get all the love from people who choose all-tournament teams, but with her, the defense stood out. She never got tired, harassed her opponent and causes a lot of problems. She did have a nice offense game, could push the ball in transition. Makes good decisions and has a nice perimeter game. (pictured left)
Natalea Clark, Richmond Heat 2023
Very solid all-around player, she has multiple offers and continues to grow her game. She plays with good intensity and a high motor. Fundamentally sounds, plays aggressive and protects the ball well. She showed a quick release and anticipates the game well, reading the game well.
Morgan Roberts, IN Showcase 2023 Select
She had a good weekend, and really showcased herself well on Sunday in the full game I got to see. Long, athletic frame who can score from all three levels, has great moves in the paint and was able to score with good body control over her defender. Good midrange game, defends well and her game has improved from last year when she was here. She has added to her game including a back-to-the-basket game. (pictured left)
Tyra Young, Overtime Performance 2023
Good strong player who can defend the 1-5 and is a versatile player. Rebounds well and has a nice perimeter game. Relocates well and runs the floor well in transition. Cuts hard to the rim, can play physical and works hard. She sees the floor well and lets the game come to her.
