Continue ReadingYesterday we brought you the best of the upperclassmen of the AAU State Tournament – the Prep Girls Hoops 2023 and 2024 All-Tournament teams. Today we turn our attention to the best of 2025 and 2026, the 9th and 8th graders who got the job done last weekend.
Just a reminder that we select our All-Tournament teams based on the division the players competed in – not their actual graduation year – so a player from the Class of 2026 could be selected for the 2025 All-Tournament Team if they are playing up. The selections are for Division 1 competition only. Similar to our high school All-Tournament team selections, a player’s team had to advance to the second round in order to be considered. Here are the honorees.
2026 ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
First Team
Aaliyah Bell – The imposing 8th grader from Minot, ND is bigger and stronger than most of her peers, has elite skills, and understands the game at a high level. Whatever team had Bell in the lineup was probably going to win Sunday’s championship game. LeeLee scored 58 points in four games for Minnesota Stars Hill.
Maggie Fricke – Another elite prospect by way of North Dakota, Fricke was brilliant from start to finish for Stars Hill. She’s got size, speed, athleticism and skill. Her ability to come up with a big play on command is impressive as is her consistent on-court aggressiveness.
Kate Holmquist Kate Holmquist 5'7" | PG Maple Grove | 2026 State MN – The super-skilled guard from Maple Grove did absolutely everything you could ask of her and more on behalf of North Tartan Nike in the 2026 championship game, but it wasn’t quite enough. Kate runs an offense at an elite level, shoots the heck out of the basketball, and has terrific intangibles.
Kate Amelotte – The 8th grade power forward from Wayzata is one of the brightest young prospects in the Class of 2026. She’s already big and getter bigger. She has speed and skill, with the ability to explode to the basket and finish at the rim. When she grows a little more and gets even stronger, look out!
Morgan Korf – The point guard from Pelican Rapids doesn’t look, act or play like an 8th grader. She is physically advanced, has skills to burns, and thinks the game at a high level. Coaches kids usually do! Morgan has an extra gear, too, and she used it well in a final four run for Inspired Athletics Gordon.
Second Team
Kadence Pierce – The Ogilvie guard entered the spring season as a virtual unknown but is fast building a reputation as a quality prospect. Her all-around excellence led Minnesota Stars Nilsen to a final four finish.
Maddie Blaylark – It’s easy to get overshadowed on Minnesota Stars Hill where the talent at the top of the roster is exceptional. Maddie got herself noticed, however, with consistent effort and quality execution. She had 36 points in 4 games.
Riley Ang – Score. Score. Score. That’s what the Crossfire South Schmidtke guard from Rosemount has done all spring. She had 50 points in 4 games at the State Tournament. Ang is always attacking and it’s paying off.
Maria Radabaugh – Maria is one of the most dynamic 8th grade guards around, with light feet, soft hands and a ton of range. The Totino-Grace freshman-to-be had a solid weekend for Minnesota Fury 2026 Blue, including 29 points.
Mya Moore – The crafty little guard played a lot of varsity at Orono this winter thanks to a truly elite box of tools, tremendous court vision, really light feet and the ability to do everything fast, fast, fast for North Tartan Nike.
2025 ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
First Team
Maddyn Greenway Maddyn Greenway 5'8" | PG Providence Academy | 2026 State MN – Playing one year up, the uber-gifted 2026 guard from Wayzata led North Tartan Nike to the 2025 division championship, scoring 23 points in the title game including five triples and a ton of big buckets at all the right moments.
Sophie Hawkinson Sophie Hawkinson 5'8" | CG Wayzata | 2025 State MN – In last year’s championship game Sophie was playing with a gruesome hand injury that limited her ability to play at peak level for North Tartan Nike. This time around there were no limits on Hawkinson’s greatness. The Wayzata freshman was stellar.
Kendall McGee Kendall McGee 5'10" | CG Benilde-St. Margaret's | 2025 State MN – The Benilde-St. Margaret’s guard does it all for Minnesota Stars Borowicz and the team has the titles to show for it. McGee once again led the 2025 division in scoring with 75 points, but the squad came up short in its final game. McGee left it all on the floor in a valiant effort.
Sam Wills Sam Wills 6'0" | SG Visitation | 2025 State MN – The positionless freshman from Visitation and Minnesota Stars Borowicz can do it all, with guard-like skills, forward-like abilities around the basket, a size-large motor that always revs fast, and the size and length college coaches covet. Win, lose or draw, Sam is a ton of fun to watch.
Addison Mack Addison Mack 5'9" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2025 State MN – As we said in our recap of Friday night’s top performers, Addi was running the Minnesota Fury UAA offense with poise and precision. That’s what we’ve come to expect from the Minnehaha Academy guard, who is one of the state’s very best. She had 58 points in four games.
Second Team
Jordan Ode Jordan Ode 5'11" | CG Maple Grove | 2025 State MN – The lengthy guard/wing/forward from Maple Grove brings her best every game for Minnesota Fury UAA. She can score, rebound, defend and more. Ode might have the biggest motor in the state.
Anna Greene Anna Greene 6'0" | SF Mahtomedi | 2025 State MN – The forward from Mahtomedi is putting together an exceptional AAU season on behalf of Crossfire Tusler. Greene had 35 points and a ton of rebounds this weekend helping Crossfire make a run to the final four.
Elayna Boe Elayna Boe 6'0" | SG Lakeville North | 2025 State MN – The Lakeville North guard got off to a terrific start when we watched her on Friday night and continued her high level of play throughout the weekend. The Crossfire Mueller freshman recorded 46 points in four games.
Lydia Schmitter Lydia Schmitter 5'8" | CG United Christian Academy | 2025 State MN – The dynamic guard from Eagan has speed, skill and smarts, and she plays the game with passion for Minnesota Stars DeSart. Her squad had a solid weekend and so did Lydia, averaging over 9 points per game.
Cierra Kortan Cierra Kortan 5'8" | CG Sauk Centre | 2025 State MN – The crafty guard from Sauk Centre can shoot it, score it and stop it. She did a little bit of all three for North Tartan Elite this weekend, including hitting the game-tying three and deciding free throws on Friday night.
