Mya Guzman (SA Lady Hoops Carolina Blue) 2024
I have watched her drop multiple three pointers in a game since before she was in high school, so yeah, I know she can drop the long ball, she had 7 or 8 to open it up, then 5 in the next game, yet what I’m digging more than anything is that she’s “mixing it up” on the offensive end to show that she is more than a three-point shooter. She does create her shot, she’s long and elevates in the jumper and gets it off with ease however she’s attacking from multiple angles to finish or stop for the midrange jumper
Donna Durbin (Bayou Bandits) 2024
Durbin scored well both off the dribble and facing the basket but what I enjoyed most of all was her playing within herself and not forcing anything. She created her shot nicely, she showed she can score facing the basket plus she handled the ball and saw the floor and if that wasn’t enough, she was feisty on defense
Gabryela Galvan (SA Lady Hoops Carolina Blue) 2025
Galvan has so much energy, on both ends and first of all, she can change the momentum of a game in several ways and she showed that again over the weekend. Her body control is very good as she attacks the basket and scores after contact but also throw in her acrobatic finishes as she’s somewhat of a highlight waiting to happen. She applies heat on the defensive end, baseline to baseline, and she plays the passing lane plus she adds some pretty nifty ball-handling, she can show the stop and pop after the steal. mid to long-range as well as good court vision
Asia Martin (DFW Elite Houston) 2025
Martin excited me off the top as she applied some “on the ball” heat but her energy stayed the same throughout the game. She can score off the dribble, attacks with either hand, and finishes the same way, with either hand, both ways after contact but her midrange pull-up was very nice as she dropped the jumper with a hand in her face numerous times but it didn’t stop there, she rebounded and went coast to coast with the ball to finish, or dish and she plays the passing lane
Hailey Miller (DFW Elite Houston) 2027
Miller has been around a very long time, I actually coached her older sister who played at the next level, yes D1, but watching her in action on the court had me smiling. She’s already a standout volleyball player yet she’s an overachiever and said “I think I want to do this as well” and the signs she’s showing already are blinking because, one, she’s long and athletic and already “gets it” and by holding her own playing up is another great sign. She attacks from multiple angles, shows she can create her shot, defends and plays the passing lane
