Alyssa Potter 2023 5’6 Coppell High School, TX (Texas Platinum 2023 Bates)
Alyssa is a silky smooth shooter who can punish the defense from all three levels of the floor. I was blown away by the ease in which she scored from the perimeter and I was not surprised to see why she wore the number 30 after watching her play for a few minutes! She has a very refined jumper off the bounce that has a high release point, which allows her to shoot over the top of the defense and punish them from beyond the arc as well as in the midrange. She constantly attacked the defense to either get into the paint or stop on a dime and rise up over them for an easy jumper. I was very impressed with her overall court vision as well, she made good reads to set up her teammates in the full court and the half court. I would like to see her work on adding a floater so she can score a bit easier in the paint.
Sofia Budnik 2023 5’10 Cinco Ranch High School, TX (Texas Cagers Select White)
Sofia is a sharp shooting guard who thrives at shooting off the bounce and the catch, all while calmly initiating offense. She is a high level guard with an ability to create space with a live dribble. Her ability to dictate the pace and create looks for her teammates is incredibly impressive, and she is very aware at her ability to create shot attempts if her passes are on the money and on time. She and her counter part Madison (Lee- 2023 Cinco Ranch HS) are high level scorers from the perimeter and are real weapons on the outside. The two of them will be putting pressure on defenses for the next few years at Cinco Ranch High School!
Madison Lee 2023 5’8 Cinco Ranch High School, TX (Texas Cagers Select White)
Madison is a high level scoring guard who is a consistent shooter off the catch. Her ability to be a threat to space the floor on the backside of the defense was a real weapon, and her awareness and ability to move off the ball really stood out. She is a knockdown shooter off the catch and is good at quickly setting her feet. She and her counter part Sofia (Budnik- 2023 Cinco Ranch HS) are high level scorers from the perimeter and are real weapons on the outside. The two of them will be putting pressure on defenses for the next few years at Cinco Ranch High School! I would like to see her work on her confidence with a live dribble, and work on getting into the teeth of the defense.
Brooke Bagneris 2023 SETX Elite Blue (Legacy Christian Academy)
Brooke is a high level sharp shooting guard who specializes in creating open looks for herself off the dribble. She is elite out of the triple threat and can create a look herself by manipulating her defender with a jab step or an explosive dribble towards the paint. She has a high arching shot which allows her to seemingly shoot over the top of anyone. Her ability to consistently knock down shots on the perimeter puts a ton of pressure on the defense to contest every shot opportunity she has on the outside, and opens up her teammates to drive and cut on the weak side of the play for easy looks at the rim. I was impressed with her willingness to take the midrange jumper when the defense gave her that look, she calmly rose up out of a one to two dribble pull up from atop the key or from the wings.
Rebecca Kelley 2023 5’8 Homeschool, TX ( Hoop Lovers 2023)
Rebecca is a patient player who sees the floor well and always seems to make the right reads and extra passes to set up her teammates well within the half court. I was very impressed by her ability to play alongside another player who wanted to live in the paint, and the willingness she had to play outside in when on the court at the same time as her. She can operate with a live dribble or out of the triple threat on the elbows and make the right pass. She has a great two man game with her other big man, Kelley is good at waiting for her to seal off her opponent before passing the ball into the post and allowing her to work.I was very impressed with the ease in which she scored from the mid-range off the bounce. She is calm with a live dribble and always seems to make the right basketball play every time down the court.
