The first event I attended was at Hazel Green HS and I would like to introduce and give previews from the coaches about their upcoming ’22-’23 season.
First up is the young and emerging Bob Jones Girls’ program, that is being led by Coach Jasmine Powers-Carr, she is going into her fourth year at Bob Jones, and her 11 year overall as a head coach. Her record going into this upcoming season is 99-71, look for BIG things to come from this young lady. Coach Jaz as she is called was recognized this summer by being inducted into Samford University Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
The first question to Coach was “What’s your biggest challenge going into your 22-23 season?” She stated she has a young team, and getting them to buy into the system and coming together and playing on one accord.
Goals: Grow together in the game and personally. Holding each other accountable, having each other’s back, and not taking it personal. Team Yourself – is their core value. We want to win but the bigger goal is to grow in the game.
